QUESTION about detox/wd

So I have been clean since last Wednesday off VICS. I relapsed and took 5 total took my last one today at 12 noon
will I wd again? I feel like **** because I was taking around 8/10 vics a day for about 9 months then decided to get clean I did it and actually only had the wd symptoms 24hrs(I know I got lucky) but I always took them like if they were "prescribed" never over took! The question I have is since I got the pills out of my system and went through dt's already will I do it again on 5?

geez, my surgeon prescribed me 8-10 norcos a day for a year..almost 2 years, due to 2 different surgeries and the pain prior to the surgery. Evidently I just had a doctor who wasn't helping my addiction at all...I'm surprised that its not common to have them prescribed like that.

8-10 a day is hardly like a prescription??  That is absolutely over taking them. Hope you got through it. I am sure things will work out..

A pain contract (here in oregon anyway) is a contract that a patient signs stating that they will not go to the emergency room or any other doctor to get narcotics , while under contract , and also the narcotics that are prescribed are monthly only, even if they are lost or  stolen etc. In return the patient is prescribed the  amount of narcotics agreed upon.(can be adjusted by doctor , for tolerance). If the contract is broken and the doctor finds out then the patient is cut off.

On The Fence,

I know, how stupid huh?  Like why not prescribe a 10 and advise to take one or just a half of one every 4 hours, instead of allowing that much tylenol?

I understand what you're saying about taking them like they were "prescribed". After taking 30 percocets a day for a year and a half, 8-10 to me would be a joke. Almost like actually "following" the script, even though I dont think docs prescribe that much a day. But it would "feel" like your not doing much especially me after 30 a day. About weather you'll go through w/d's again, DONT think about it. Just dont take any more pills. You can do it. Good luck.

Dear Sleepy with the Enemy,

You completely stopped Wednesday, and after 24 hours felt good after a 8 - 10 a day addiction?  That would put you in the .001% catagory of people that don't really go through w/d's.  Count your blessings & kiss the ground!

Or.....maybe, you didn't really go through full blown detox yet.  Let see, Wed is the last dose, so Thrus (24 hours) you were okay?  None Friday.  Then 1 1/2 Sat. and 3 1/2 today.

You know what?  Maybe what you took only aided in the withdrawals.

Were you 100% yourself on Friday?  If not, then I'd say that the small amount you took is only relieving withdrawal symptoms.

How do you feel right now after 6 hours without...or whatever part of the country you're in?

I have been prescribed "1 to 2 every 4 to 6 hrs. as need for pain" 5/500 hydrocodone  many times. I believe the doctors that wrote these scripts must not of thought that a person would actually "need" to take 2 every 4 hours, because it is against the recommended advise of taking more than 4 grams of tylenol in a 24 hr period. (non drinker) that is recognized by the medical community.
My wife & I are both on pain contracts with our doctor's and now we are limited to 8 hydrocodone in a 24 hr, period for breakthrough pain.

No....sorry, I didn't mean to come across as rude Sleepy.  It's just that most of us here are recovering addicts, and cannot be tricked or fooled, as we did that to everyone in our dope days.

Anyway, I don't know that a doctor would prescribe 2 at a time.  I was in pain management and on my own, took 2 at a time, so the doc upped my strength.

First, no pain?  Just recreational?  That's why I asked the prescribed info.......no one would prescribe for recreational usage.

Anyway......Is this right?.....You started your detox on Wednesday, Dec 3rd?.... or Nov. 26th?  Knowing these dates can help me to answer some questions.

Best Wishes.

Alright....I don't have your story straight.

Your post said that you always took them like as if they were prescribed.  Who prescribes 8-10 a day?  Your dealer?

Come on man!

NO I was not prescribed just took recreational around 8 to 10 a day. Regular vics.......
when I went through W/d I did great and it only lasted literally maybe 24hrs and I thought it was not that bad considering I was not a "heavy" user so to say and I know everyone is different but now I'm SO SUPER worried I will start to wd on 5 of them since they have only been out of my system or should I say I took my last pill at Wed and by Thursday eve I felt good.  I want to stay clean and Im so mad at myself
