Question about BUSPAR

Has anyone out here ever used it.  I hear it's a "non-addictive benzo"  is that true, and does it work?

Thanks,
Nauty..................

It gave me horrible electrical brain jolts or somethign. very hard side effect to describe but it made me totally non functioning about 15 mins after taking it, my brain was shorting out , it was awful!

Buspar did not work for me but yet agan I was coming of 4 xanax a day.. I was weaned down off the xanax then given Klonopin.. its was a lot better but it addictive.. I did work myself off Klonopin down to 1-2mg at nigh to sleep.. just took it.. I can really tell when I dont.. I have tried to stop the one but I have these weird dreams and its like my brain never goes to sleep....After I get off this patch I want to get off that one dose of klonopin also.. I have heard people say its really good for them and I have read as well its very dangerous to drink with Buspar for some reason..

Hey.  I used to be perscribed buspar for anxiety.  Its not at all addictive and is extremely effective...However, it is VERY dangerous to drink on buspar.....so....Make sure you're carefull.  If you dont have anxiety, or if you're thinking aobut using it to get high, it doesnt work like that, its a medication that builds up into your system over several days.

Hi I have taken Buspar twice I took it a few years ago and was one it for about 3 years and had no problems when I stopped taking it. Now I am on it again ( I have anxiety really bad) and i take it 2 times a day and I do not have any w/d problems if I miss a dose, I guess its true what they say everyone responds differently to RX! Good luck I hope it works out for you, just make sure you take it as prescribed.

Please do keep in mind why we are all here.  I cannot help but to doubt anytime I hear a drug isn't addictive.   Just be careful...you can do this.  There are so many natural remedies that provide relief.  Please be cautious and best of luck...keep posting!

I have been on Buspar for like 7 years now. I take it 3 times a day and I was told it was not addicting ALTHOUGH everytime it gets close to like 6-8 hours after taking it my heart starts to flutter and race..So I take the next one. You can't tell any difference with handling anxiety youself BUT I have noticed in the past when I was working that things that bothered OTHERS and got them up tight didn't even bother me, SOOO maybe it does work. :) I am presently on day 8 off of a 7 year use of soma and vicodin 4-5 EACH per day. Just starting to feel better today. But I am thinking maybe the Buspar is helping with some of the anxiety withdrawals....Hope this helps...Precious

If I understood the meaning of  "use as directed"  I wouldn't be here......lol.  I don't think there is anything that is truly non addictive anymore.  pharma's make sure of that.

Thanks,

buspar is safer than ativan. you should have no withdrawals IF used as directed.

Buspar is used as an anti anxiety med.  While they have shown they are non-addicitve they are just as difficult to quit taking as any other physc drug.  Once you start them and stay on them your body will get used to having them.  Once you quit is when your body/brain will protest.

buspar is an anti anxiety medication that has shown no indication of addiction. however, they said that about tramadol too
