Question about Opiate withdrawels (My experience) Please read!

Hey all, new member long time reader...

I know its a little long winded but please take the time to read. I really could use some help!

After a severe wreck breaking my back I was sent to a pain management doctor in 2006. Started out with no education with opiates and other meds. Started out taking them as prescribed and them moving on the other ways for the quicker high I realized I was a full blown addict. The Dr was raising/changing my meds every several months.

Anyways fast forward it to May 2010. I am trying to change my life around for many reasons. Before I stopped taking everything recently from Oxycodone 30mg 5x a day, Xanax went from 2mg twice a day to 1mg twice a day also Dr changed me from Ambien to i believe its called Restoril because of all the issues going on with Ambien and finally Celexa 40mg once a day at bed that the Dr thought I needed but I believe my depression results from everything following my friggen accident!

After 2-3 days I was so sick and my wife could see it I didn't hesitate going to the ER. After hours & hours and a bunch of crap tests & a IV from dehydration I was sent home with a prescription for Tramadol 50mg, Clonidine .3mg & Some darn suppository for diarrhea. (Oh joy!)

I noticed right off that the Clonidine made me not wanna move and just listen to my favorite music and after being on opiates including both Oxycodone 30s, Oxy 40s, Xanax 2mg to start and lowered to 1mg (The lowering the xanax was to cover the Dr's *** I found out later!)

Here is the final part... Today I got up feeling craving terribly and got a couple of Dones and was curious by missing the Done and Clonidine am I at a major risk? Your talking about a long long term user with a tolerance through the roof! First thing Monday I am hunting for a Subox Dr in my area that takes my insurance United Heath Care so anyone that may know a good Sub Dr in the Tampa area please let me know.

Thanks so much for reading (Just lost and need guidance)

Ok i am really confused here .What are you taking right now ? If you have stopped the methadone I would not go and take more now .If you want to find a sub doctor google suboxone and your zip code you should be able to find some doctors. You are on a bunch of addicting drugs do you want off all of them of just the methadone ? Btw ultram is highly addictive and is nasty to come off of as well so if you haven't started that or only taken it for a few days I would stop now .Hang in there let us know how you are.

yes if you are taking methadone xanax clonidine you are putting your self at serous risk not to mention sleeping pills .If you want to break this cycle first thing you need to do is dump the methadone that you got  from the street ...If you dont think you  can do this on your own go to the doctor no not contue to self medicate your playing with fire .

Are you sure that it's Clonidine? Well, the .3mg sounds right anyway. This is a Vasodialator Type Hypertension (High Blood Pressure) med. It is also used in Detox programs to reduce withdrawal symptoms. If you stop taking this Cold Turkey without tapering off, you will suffer severe rebound hypertension. Your BP can shoot up to 210/130 easily (personal experience) depending how long you have been on it. The drowsy effect of Clonidine usually wears off within a week or two, unless the dose is increased. It has nothing to do with your narcotics, except that opiates also lower your BP, so you make want to check it to avoid hypotension
