Question about Suboxone

I have a question about Suboxone.  What would happen if someone would take an opiate (percocet, vicodin, oxycotin...etc.) while being on Suboxone?  Does anyone know?

It depends on the milligram of suboxone you are on if you on 8 mg a day maybe 36 hrs really depends on your matabolism to and how long you have been on the suboxone

How long after taking suboxon one time will you be able to feel hydrocodone again?

Don't take opiates while on suboxone....while you won't feel the opiates because the sub blocks them, they will still be in the system and if you do too much you can overdose.  And you're not going to get high anyways, so DONT TAKE THE CHANCE.

First off, thank you for answering my question.  No one that I know is going to take an opiate while taking Suboxone.  This is a support forum and all I was doing was asking a simple question.  Again, thank you for responding.

If this person is taking suboxone didnt the doctor tell him/her how to take this?

Lisa is right - one of the things they really caution against is not feeling the effect of any opiates if you take them while already on sub.  Many people will take TOO many cause you are not feeling 'high' and end up in the ER with an overdose. Be very careful.  Very defeating to the whole purpose of using suboxone.  Please seek out some support.  Good luck.

Be careful, please if it is you that is planning on taking the opiates while on sub. You are definitely NOT supposed to. I know that while on sub, if the same amount of opiates you were previously on are taken, it may be an unwanted trip to the ER. Just be careful. Look into aftercare or meetings for support.

Why do you want to know? While on sub it blocks opiate receptors. Normally, you would not feel any effects of opiates while on sub. Its not recommended that anyone take opiates while on sub.

It wont work ...I hope someone isn't taking opiates while on sub it defeats the purpose .

haha. yes I know. It wont work. Suboxone forces its way into the opiate receptors and the antagonist will bind in such a way as to push and keep out other opiates.
