Question about long term benzo usage and withdrawals

I had been taking about 8mgs of xanax per day about a year ago when I decided to taper using valium.  I tapered down to about 7.5 mgs of valium per day when I went to a detox facility.  I haven't had any benzos in 11 days but am experiencing some pretty horrible withdrawal symptoms.  First, I want to make sure I'm in the clear as far as seizures are concerned.  Second, I'm still having a hell of a time remembering anything or concentrating.  Anyone have advice or go through anything similar?

did you taper down off the valium too, or only taper off the xanax and hop over to valium? did you jump off from 7.5 mg of valium to nothing? Also Im not sure how different the WDs are between those two drugs but would guess they are very very similar since they are of the same family. My understanding is that valium has a longer half life than xanax but thats about as far as my knowledge goes on valium. Ive been on xanax for years myself (no higher than 1 mg a day, but the last several months am down to .25 a day) . Anyways I cant tell you if you are out of the danger zone of seizures or not as I dont really know. Im sure somebody will come along soon as the morning gets later here and be able to help you more. hang in there.
