Question about lortab

I am 7 months pregnant and I have been on lortab because of a different medical problem. I want to know if it will have any effect on my baby when the baby is born. If there is please tell me what I can do to prevent anything happening to my baby.I take 3-4 pills a day.

Allisa,

No, I don't think your crazy for losing 15lbs. and being happy about it. That is what I say everyday. If we can find something to be happy about in these times of addiction/recovery, then we are winning. And that means YOU are winning.

Keep positive. It makes things so much easier than when you dwell on things too much. Or as Bmac puts it, obsessing, its not good.

BTW - I have lost about 20lbs. myself. I do have to tell you though. The #1 ingredient to make the withdrawls bearable is EATING. I know how hard it is, especially when you are w/d-ing hard the 1st couple of days. It is very important to at least get some food down. Be it soup, salad, anything. Personally I drink Slimfast if I can't keep anything else down. I also take a couple puffs, and that usually helps.

Another thing. Your posts aren't that long. Don't worry, we love to read and see how you are doing. Write to your hearts content, that is what this is for. You have seen some of my "books" I am sure.

You sound good, especially since you sound more like you don't want to keep riding the rollercoaster of using anymore. Keep positive,

I totally understand the way you feel and you shouldn't come down on yourself.       For many years I NEEDED to take the drugs to function, to work.  I still do.  I want to get off the stuff so that's why I'm here.  I know it won't be easy but at least we are not alone.  That's great news to me.

Hang in there,
Alan

"this forum has helped me alot. it's helped me more than any doctor has".

This is something you said earlier. I can't agree more with you on this. This site has helped me more than any doctor ever has with my questions regarding pain vs. addiction.

Yesterday is gone.

Today isn't the same without you....

Taking Lortab will not kill your baby, nor will it cause birth defects of any sort. The only thing you would and SHOULD be worried about is the withdrawls your baby will have after delivery.  You will find that you baby will cry all the time and will be crampy.  It usually will last about 2 weeks.  Honestly I would advise stopping the Lortab immedatiatly since  your pregnant.  If you are going to breast feed you defiantely DO NOT want to take this drug.  Good luck to you and congrats on your baby.

Thank you for your info. I am taking them under a doctors care I wanted to know if it is going to be a problem or will it hurt my baby. The doctors told me that the baby will be alright but I don't always trust doctors!

Thank You!I still come back here everyday because I need to.
Even though I am clean and on my 36 day I still need to work out
the other part of my addiction.Or obsession, whichever you want to call it.This morning was uncalled for on all three of our
parts.Nothing was settled because of the arguing, just feeling hurt.I haven't been here long enough to experience what happened and next time you can bet your ass I will stay out of it.
       Thanks for the confidence.

Hey Bill.  I just wanted to send you a quick note and tell you how much strength you have provided me over the last few weeks just by reading your posts.  Even if you kick my ass for snorting ;)  I also imagine that there might come some pressure from statements like this.  You have every right in the world to have a shitty day.  In fact, when you do I think people here need to come to your aid.  I believe there are many people here that, whether they ever say it or not, really rely on you day to day.  Your clean but your real.  You don't judge, you encourage.  Most of all, though, you still show that you have your weaknesses like the rest of us.  These so-called "flaws" allow us to connect with you.  I for one support what you wrote.  I believe you weren't speaking in absolute terms about every doctor out there.  I think you were basically saying that anyone who entirely lacks compassion is not fit for the human race.  I agree.

Bill, thank you for what you do.  Keep posting and keep up the fight.

I need a drink and a percodan today. As someone said earlier
I must be on the rag today. You didn't offend me and Groovy didn't offend me,I just lost it today for some reason. You are welcome here and if you want and need to talk about getting high,
you have every right too.If others here don't need to hear this kind of stuff, they don't have to read your posts. But I will
anyway.I read every post.If someone doesn't want me to read their posts they should not post then because I have alot of time on my hands and I will read everyone.I do apologize for getting into your and groovy's arguement this morning.I should have stayed out of it.But This forum is open to people using, not using or people that just want to talk about drug use.I have read every rule and allthe info listed about this group and nowhere does it say this is for getting clean. It is an open forum. If some people want it to be a closed forum only they need to take it up with the owners.
                      Thanks so much for listening
today of all days I needed someone myself.
