Question about pot

Ok, I smoked some pot before I knew I was preggo.  At the time I was trying to get preggo but was under so much stress and in a lot of emotional pain - not and excuse I was wrong.  I only slipped up twice and felt really bad about it.  I've forgiven myself and now are worried about the baby.  I was bashed on another forum and though maybe this was a better forum to turn to. When I smoked it I only took three inhales on two different days.  It was on the 3rd and 4th or Oct I got preggo at the time.  I have not smoked anyhting since and will not and don't plan to, the baby should be fine right?

I agree with the other posters. I am not saying that smoking pot is ok but I dont believe you have anything to worry about as far as your babies health. I know for a fact that my mother smoked pot throughout her pregnancy with me and both of my sisters. My youngest sister also smoked pot while pregnant with her son and is now pregnant smoking pot. It hasnt hurt anything. It is weird though, she will quit smoking cigs while pregnant, but she wont give up her pot habit. I just dont get it, but I am not a pot smoker.

I was so bashed on the Maternal & Child forum where I asked.  I loved pot and stopped when I was tring to get preggo and just did those two times.  I had an u/s three weeks ago and baby is fine, everyone on the other forum scared me some that's all.  They were really hard on someone who admited to doing drugs.  I guess I was on the wrong forum.

I can honestly tell you that IT WILL NOT hurt your baby. I am personally not a pot smoker sure wish I could pick that up instead of the pill problem but maybe in the next life. I know of tons of people who have smoked while they were pregnant mainly old hippies and their kids are my age now and they are just fine. They have done plenty of tests on animals for this and there are no birth defects. Smoking cigs while prego is actually worse. You will be fine and so will your baby. Good luck!!! Shouldn't you bet getting another ultrasound soon?

I'd say it's probably less harmful to smoke pot during pregnancy than cigarettes. Don't worry. BTW, I don't smoke pot, so I'm not trying to justify it.

I am a pothead from way back.  Did use SOME during my pregnancy. It helped with morning sickness big time. Ofcourse I am not recommending it.  But please don't stress about it, the stress will be worse than the puffs you took.  Stop worrying in my opinion, as well.  You will be FINE.  You can stop in this forum at any time for support,  Lots of people to listen to you.  STOP STRESSING, I have learned stress is a huge killer.

There have been people on this forum who were on opiates while pregnant and the baby turned out fine. Now don't go looking for heroin, but don't beat yourself up about a few puffs either.

but think about it...its early in your pregancy.....it was only twice and very little....

I dont think there was any harm done to the baby..in my personal opinion
