Vicodin was my DOC.I was taking 20 7.5 mg a day.Anytime I would stop it would take me around 6 days of feeling really sick, flu like, after day 6 I was usually left with some high anxiety and feeling restless for a week or 2.I'm not sure about how taking the 1 a day will work.I could never taper or anything like that.If I had them I would take them.Hang in there,it does get better....Peace..............Kim

Cutting back from 6 to 1 is way too much. You might as well go cold turkey. That is such a drastic cut in dose. Either take 6 halves a day then 5 then 4 or just quit.

That drastic of a taper is just like going CT, so you may as well just not take any and be over with the w/d in a week.  Otherwise you may prolong it 10-14 days.  If you're looking to ease w/d, follow GTMI's advice.

that much of a cut is not helpful and is not a taper...u will prolong wds like that...may be easier to just CT...if u want to taper it would need to be much slower and very hard for a true addict to do.....handing over ur pills for a taper is usually the only way and it is still no fun...at 60 mg a day...ct would be the fastest way to go unless u need to work...then taper down til u have a few days of....4-5 days was all i had physically...back to work day 5 and i was at 80 mg a day/or more...keep posting
