Question re: suboxone

I am working with a new girl at my "N/A" home group that just moved to our area. B/C shes new she had to find a new sub dr in our area. When we 1st started talking she was taking roughly 4-6 mg of subs per day. In finding this new doc they've told her things that i've NEVER heard before and im wondering whats going on with this....if any of ya'll could answer any of these questions it would be appreciated b/c honestly, i dont know???
1. The proper way to take the subs is to put under your tounge, let dissolve and spit while dissolving to spit out the naloxone in the med??? I was NEVER told to do this? I ask b/c the last few days shes been complainig of aches, pains, cold sweats, etc....which sound like w/d symptoms so im wondering if she's spitting out her meds?
2. He upped her 2 8mg per day and told her that at 6mg she was only maintaining, they needed to find a dose where she would be happy, then taper her from there????
3. At what point do you make the decision that it might not be the meds, or w/d, it might actually be mental illness? Shes believing she is bipolar, but her reasoning sounds like w/d as well? It seems like such a fine line?
Shes coming over this evening (for Paqciou fight and to hang out) and i need some advice on what direction to go in???

My son was on suboxone for a short period of time during a detox. The naltrexone can cause headaches in some people. The advice of his doctor was to let the strip fully absorb under the tongue and then he was OK to spit. The rationale was that the naltrexone serves no other purpose than to prevent "abuse" and it is not absorbed in the mouth but in the stomach or not at all. If they spit it out, there is less chance of nausea or headache.

Girl  you can be there for her without sponsoring her. The fact that she seems suspicious isn't a great start. Your sobriety is the most important. You don't NEED to take this on. You are amazing. And she is lucky to be hanging w you!

I don't think she's necessarily lying.  The natoxone is designed to prevent the sub stripy from being injected.  It's not supposed to have any effect when used subligually.  It is not present to prevent abuse of other drugs.  I'll look for info that has appropriate citations and post if you are interested.

Some people have exhibited an allergic reaction to naloxone like headaches, so not ingesting it can have benefits.

As for myself, I never spit out the naloxone.  I'm 75 days free from suboxone or any other opiate

I dont know what to believe?? Im definatly not good at picking up on lies and liars but thats very possible. The sponser she originally had ( which i didnt agree with b/c it was a man ) dropped her in one week?? When she originally approached me she said she wanted off the subs so thats why i agreed to help?? The spitting thing kind of threw me?

I think she is lying. I don't know if bipolar as anything to do with it. He wants her to be happy on the meds so he gave her a higher dose? Really? This is why I don't sponsor anyone on maintenance drugs.

I have never ever heard of spitting out the sub after it dissolved
I think the naloxone is mixed in with the bup. So it can't be  seperated
That would kind of defeat the purpose
maybe someone else will chime in
