Quitting tramadol

Hi all,
Tramadol 250-300 mgs a day for almost 5 yrs for chronic pain. Want the real me back. It slowly crept up on me. I have tried the slow taper only to dip into depression and severe anxiety. I did cold turkey for 7 days, lost it and started again. How many are successful going cold turkey. Since I went back on, have been having wd symptoms very easy between doses. This never happened when I took it before. I would rather suffer hard shorter wds than slow and certain torture for months. I was prescribed this drug and when my pain seemed to be getting better, that's when I found out the evilness of this drug. I told my Dr. I want off. She thinks it will be a breeze and doesn't get the ssri problem at all. So her way will not work. I know it will be over a week of straight bell cause 7 days it still had severe, mostly mental reactions.  PLEASE HELP!

I still get a prescription I have a herniated disc in my back and arthritis in my knees plus dislocation of my knees was in a bad car accident years ago. Eventually I turned into an addict.

Ruthy- There's a separate area devoted to Tramadol. Use the search engine in the upper right and type in "Tramadol and Ultram Recovery Room."   Good luck.

I've never experienced anxiety with Zoloft. Im also on ambilify. I understand the work thing. I don't work now I am on disability . I worked with this addiction for years . I was scared I wouldn't have them for work so I never let myself run out . Bought them from friends and such.

Are you truly an addict? Did you start with a prescription taking Norco? I read so many situations where Tramadol got non drug seeking people addicted in such a short time. I think I have the addicted gene in my system.

I've exhausted time off work. I know, I sound so negative. The tricky thing is I need pain med to work. Also have fibromyalgia. My Dr. Won't prescribe anything stronger and I do have an antidepressant ready to use. Does Zoloft cause anxiety in the beginning?

Well at least you will know the shell is shorter duration. But for me the acute mental wds can go on and on. I truly wish you success and will pray for you all. Is there a way to follow you guys to see how you are doing. I'm new here and can't navigate this site well. Tell me what to search for. And also, is there a specific Tramadol area on here?

Im withdrawing from norco its hydrocodone well ask your doctor for something stronger and an antidepressant. Im on Zoloft. You can do this with help and support . can't you take some time off work. Pick a quit date and stick to it . Get all the drugs out of the house so there's no temptation.

I already take Klonapin for bed time. Didn't touch me. I know this is going to be a problem. Again what will you be withdrawing from? I would love to join you all tomorrow but I have some commitments that I can't get out of. I also work so I'm in a tough spot. I will quit my job just to get off this. My husband is prepared to tighten the financial belt if it comes to this and I'm the insurance carrier!

Have you asked the doctor to give you something for your nerves will you withdraw I got some xanax to help me . But that is also addicting so you gotta careful with them. You went seven days I know you can do this. You just got to hang on. Im starting tomorrow. This will be my second time trying last time I only made it three days.

I tried the Thomas Recipe. It did not help the severe and I mean severe panic. The physical part wasn't that bad thanks to Thomas Recipe. I want to connect with you all! I'm probably going to have to quit my job to get off the Tramadol. It has a hold that I read is worse than heroin and though I have only experienced Tramadol, I believe it is worse than heroin wds. Stay with me!
