REHAB: what can I expect? I've tried everything else. Last resort.

I am addicted was addicted to vicadin for 2 years and  now methadone for 1 1/2 yrs. I've tried to quit cold turkey a handful of times but always find my way back to them when the withdrawals are too bad. I can't do it by myself, I'm too weak mentally and definately physically from severely low blood count from apasticanemea too. But I'm worried about having to do what they tell me to, I don't mind classes but I am really wondering if I will have a room to myself and if there will be a t.v. in there (sounds silly) but I have been so sick lately I m in bed 23 hours a day! And when I aam detoxing I like to be left alone and if Im not I tend to lash out on people and like to watch t.v. and movies to keep my mind off things. And try to sleep it off a much as possible. With my blood so low I take several naps a day,  Also I am a very very picky eater and wondering about that too. I know each place is different but can anyone give me an idea of what to expect?

Rehab, ah what hell on earth.  There are no TVs in the bedrooms, as a matter there are cameras in the bedrooms where the tv should go.  When your in detox they can watch you  when you are in your room, which isnt comfy or cozy 24/7.   You have an unknown roomate and maybe for the first day or two you can get a doctors order for two hours of bedrest, but thats it.  Yes its meeting all day and dont worry about the food, you wont care what it is the mental anguish of being in one of those places and I have been in four is hell.  My appetite was non existant.

Its sorta like boot camp,  TV's in the bedroom?  Wow they dont make it nice there!!!  Its absolute hell.

Good day miss boss, I think that you are making a good choice along with a great decision to go to a rehab. I just left a rehab for 30 days, and to me it was the best thing that I could have done. This was the 5th rehab, but I normally would spend 3 days to detox and then leave only to relapse the next day time and time again. I just decided as to what was more important in my life and not much left in my life after burning so many bridges and throwing trust down the drain. All rehabs are pretty much the same except for a few minor things. Most of the time you have a roomate, sometimes you might get lucky. Television sets are just in a little room with a few couches. The unit is locked down, which means that your sole purpose is to detox and not allowed to walk freely outside the unit. Usually your first 3 days in detox is to rest and they usually make you as comfortable as possible. You are monitored all the time with vital signs. There is no smoking allowed in most detox centers as well, but they give you a patch. Your sole purpose being there is to medically detox as safe as possible. I spent 8 days in detox, as benzo withdrawal is very dangerous and it is recommended that you should be medically monitored for seizures.Opiate withdrawal is not as dangerous, but you do get sick sometimes. I am glad I finally went this route, it saved my life and I got a lot out of the small classes that they have while in detox, and they do not expect you to attend these classes for your first 2 or 3 days, so dont worry about that. I wish you well, and you will do well, its a great option to save your life.. God Bless, mike in nc
