oh the wonderful RLS... are u having it from w d or do u just have it? if from w d what day r u on? NOTHING has worked for me for this the closest thing to helping is i called my dr he gave me Requip.. this is non habbit forming and it is to treat RLS.. depending on how many days u have been off the meds u can decide if it is worth calling the dr for.. it does not give u a drowsy effect but does help u sleep if that makes sense.. hope that helps

My drug of choice is Heroin and the rls is just plain horrible during withdrawal. After years of relapse and trying EVERYTHING I figured a few things out. First, it is worse when you are laying down, right? It was for me so I began sleeping (or trying to sleep) in a laz-e-boy type of chair so that I was not completely in a horizontal position. I found that helped a whole bunch. then I used a heating pad under the calves of my legs while in the recliner. That also helped and finally I wrapped ace bandages around the calves. The pressure all but stopped the rls. Those three things combined helped. Just be careful with the ace bandages as you should not keep them on if you will be sleeping for periods at a time..it is not good to cut off your circulation like that. Moderation if the key. It hope this helps.

You could try Mag-Cal-Zinc supplement.  Also, a dose or two of Nyquil at night might help.  There's an ingredient in it that is supposed to help the RLS.  It helped me some.  IBK is right though.  The pressure on your legs will help a BUNCH.  However you have to do it.  Bandages.  Blankets wrapped around them.  A pet laying on them.  I had restless arms, and I'd wrap a throw blanket around my arms and chest as tight as I could, and that helped!

Good luck.  RLS makes you think you're gonna lose it!  You won't. It'll go away soon!

I am going to try the heating pad and ace wraps and heavy blankets I hate it makes me so crazy I just wanna cut my legs off.
I Got some Hylands restless legs stuff It didnt help at all. I Think It could just also be anxiety maybe.
I actually told My BF I wanted a Lazy boy chair because It is better when i am not laying down But I hate to think of sleeping in Recliner for long period of time But hey if It works I will ;-)  Thx again everyone <3

Try eating a banana before bedtime.  The potassium worked wonders for my RLS.  And I agree - try an easy chair or the couch so you're not laying flat.

Try the banana - you might find it works for you and you won't need a prescription for it.  :)

i tried the banannas too TONS of them they didn't do ANYTHING for me but i had a SEVER case during my pregnancy its good u guys can laugh about it i don't know how many times i told my husband to get a gun and shoot me lol.. i told him if they said eating a tub of butter would help i would be willing to do that too lol ANYTHING that i even thought could help i tried.. my husband was ALWAYS at the store u should have seen me all wrapped up in ace bandages w heating pads lol.. it was MISERABLE... and i think the deciding factor of not even having anymore babies i love my 2 babies but i can't take that:( now i don't have RLS hardly ever well right now i do from detoxing off vicodin.. they actually prescribe narcotics for RLS but i would not reccomend that lol esp if u have had prob in the past like me w that crap.. i hope u can get some requip and i hope it helps i still have some and have been taking it these last couple days it works pretty darn good that is what it is used for RLS.. good luck i feel ur pain.. i hope everything gets better for u!!! but keep making jokes out if it that is a good thing!!

I don't recommend this very often but it's worked for a lot of people. DXM. Its the stuff in cough syrups and cold medicines. So, a couple tsps of cough syrup with DXM may do the trick for the RLS.  I hope so and don't go crazy with the cough syrup...I don't want you robo tripping!!!

Yes, vicki is right!   DXM is what I was referring to in Nyquil.  I also agree that benadryl and some other sleep aids can make it worse, but Nyquil doesn't.  Give it a try! : )  I mean........it worked for me when the others just made it worse.  Now, don't go drinking a whole bottle or anything.  A DOSE! LOL
