RLS and bananas, it DID WORK!!!!

RLS and bananas, it DID WORK!!!!

I am on day 13 of detox, RLS kicked in 4 nights ago. I did what badsneakers said, and ate bananas.  I also walked early evening, (bout kicked my butt because i've been laying around for 2 weeks).
I've slept. I didn't even move.  I slept 7 hours.  I AM alive!!!!!
I ate 3 bananas yesterday, 2 during the day, one last night.  I'll move to a tropical location to eat enough bananas if it keeps the  RLS away.
Happy New year to all, and to all a good night sleep!
AMEN!!!!

Yeah, that was weird.  I slept constantly the first 8 nights, well, and 8 days.  Someone on here said I had the 'sleeping disease' which I was just fine with.
Why it waited, I don't know.  I only know the night before last I woke up at 12:30 a.m., and I was up the rest of the 'night'.  The night before that was 4 a.m, the night before that was 5 a.m.  I saw a BAD pattern happening.
I'm going to do a little research on potasium content of a banana, then look into a multi-vitamin (or just postassium pill) that is equal.

snowflake, now it makes sense about monkeys!!!  lol

i said when it started that it was the worst.. but i remember saying on day 3 and 4 that the superflu felt like the worst.  Sometimes I don't know if I got comfort from hearing what others said when it was like 'oh, it'll only last a couple months...'.  God, you kidding??!
Bit by bit.  You're doing it.  Just get thru today.  Thru my last 13 days, i DID have a day that I was ROCKIN!!!  I woke up, felt like i wanted to do stuff! caught up on house cleaning (my husband can only do so much)  I did the floors, went shopping....  Then, unfortunantly the next day, I forgot to drink any fluids.  I was down for the count.  Couldn't get out of bed.  I begged my husband to start an I.V., he just told me to drink water.  I never got it together that day.  But I learned about fluids, I tell ya what.

Hi all. Found out some interesting info today about bananas and the potassium.  (forgive me if some of my number are a tad off).  A banana has about 300 mg of potassium.  Our bodies need 4,300 mg a day!!!  Yes, we can get it in other food.  But my husband and I went to drug store to find potassium supplement, the over the counter supplement has 3% of the RDA of potassium!  We searched all the multi vitamins, trying to find SOME WAY to get enough potassium (which we obviously need during detox for the RLS).  My husband went and talked to the pharmacist, you need a PRESCRIPTION to get 1,000 mg. supplements of potassium.
We were absolutely shocked.
Fortunantly for me, my husband is also my doc, and got a script for it.  I took 1,000 mg today, plus ate 2 bananas, so we'll see abou the RLS.
FYI, the potassium was extremely inexpensive for the script.
Very interesting!!!!!
Sleep tight sandman, you were rockin today!!!!!
