Recovering Addict facing surgery

Hi there. I am a recovering addict and there is really no drug of choice for me. Drugs were my choice. I preferred pot but it didn't matter what I did,as long as it gave me that "feeling."

I have been in the restaurant business for years and have carpel tunnel syndrom (syndrome). The cortizone injections are not doing it for me. Well, the advantages to the injection do not come close to the disadvantages. I have already proved that I cannot take pain medication as directed and I am going to have surgery. I am scared of the pain and the pain killers. Any advice?
