I have nine hundred and fifteen days .I see an addiction theripist plus I have a friend as well who i am accountable too.As well as myself as well my family . I could have not done it with out all of this. I do everything i can do to make sure relapse does not happen because every time you relapse it gets a bit harder to get back on track so I do everything I can do to prevent it .

hoping ur gb is all good..like brand new!

me..and aftercare..well i guess most here know i add it to a sentence when i post whenever i can/i probably overdo it//this i know and i do apologizre as i know we r all different
i feel aftercare is the medicine an many addicts resist///like insulin for a diabetic///or blood pressure meds for a hypertensive person...we can be so elf destructive! The spider web drugs weave around our brains make us tend to stay in a dark place.....craving what will kill us///resisting what will help us///strange but true

good post!

i remember a few weeks after i got clean...the realization of what i had been missing/what i had not been feeling.....i appreciated things i had  never thought about//took for granted

not saying there is anything positive bout using//cos the negatives outweigh it for sure....but i remeber thinkng  "clean peeps never feel this RUSH of feelings.."  it was weird///a realization of where my triggers were...realizing who i was and where i was..u do not have to be an addict to be in a dark place....

I have 232 days and was going to meetings on Friday's, but I have been slacking on them for awhile, so this is a good reminder to get my butt back in gear. Aftercare is so important in our fight to stay clean. This forum helps a lot also. Congrats to everyone on their clean time.

Forgot the aftercare!!!
I go to 2 therapies, one for me and another one for my ego!! lol. Seriously tho, I go to "regular" therapy and self esteem therapy, I go to a sorta NA and I have this site. Aftercare is so the secret to a successful detox....
Hey avisg, how are you doing girl???

19 days but still in a heck of pain.   I am waking up constantly in pain.    I have tried OTC stuff and keep hoping it will help.  I am probably still dealing with not having normal pain receptors?

93 days clean and serene. Aftercare is the first and foremost the most vital tool and way of life for me to stay in recovery. Because, for me, its worthless to continue to be recovered if I did not have any aftercare whatsoever, or hee haw around saying that yeah I probably should do this or do that. Those excuses have always had results with pure relapse. Intensive Outpatient Aftercare 3 hours a day, 5 days a week, group therapy 4 classes a week, councelor therapy or check in 1 meeting a week, doctor every month, AA and NA 5 meetings a week, volunteer with inner city children mentoring program 3 hours a week, church every sunday, and up front and open honesty with my wife and my grown children,,, ALL THE TIME, and lastly checking into this site to see people grow,,, god bless, mike in nc

Over 27 years Alcohol/drug free in AA

Now 21 days clean from Vicodin 7.5; originally taken for severe Scoliosis.

Never free of back pain anymore, but I've learned what is "discomfort" and what is actual "pain".

I make my recovery the first thing in my life, hence everything else is taken care of by the God of my understanding. I go to meetings virtually every day. More AA than NA. I have a sponsor in both programs.

Congrats on everyone's recovery. This site is a gift!
