Relapse Oxycodone

Well here I am... Back at square one with this Devil named Oxy! Such a strong hold this has had on me. I guess I thought that back in January I would Detox at home and defeat this on my own, but I was wrong. Went back to find them on the street after all the work I had done to be honest with my wife and doctor so that I wouldn't be able to obtain the pills that I had abused for so long. And so I just came out of Rehab 4 Days ago and am trying to find NA/AA Meetings to keep myself in the proper support networks. Today I am feeling weak again.... Still having some Post Acute Withdrawal Symptoms and just want to feel good again... So the question of the day is this.  What is the secret to living a clean life??

The answer to the question, "What is the secret of staying clean?" will have as many answers as those who are-staying clean.
I liked the comment above about, "changing your thinking." For me that has amounted to actually looking for the things in life I truly find rewarding themselves-that I enjoy without my favorite pill buzz. I used to time all my activities by the next pill: take a pill, then go swimming and enjoy! take a pill, then fire up the grill! Get up in the morning, have a pill with my morning coffee.
My daily life totally revolved around pills. I am finding lots of things are enjoyable all by themselves, without pills. I don't know if that is a "secret" but it took me a long time to realize that (and it is so simple)

Slim, If I knew the secret I could sell it for millions what if the secret was riding a white pony at work naked kinda like crazy dreams would you do it?? thats the funny thing about my addiction I have the hardest time staying clean Now dont get me wrong I can do it I just find it hard everyday day in and day out.. I think im just an addict at heart I used to use a lot of coke and I mean a lot but havent touched it for 10 plus years but every pay day I still have this senstaion to find some ?? kinda wierd huh but the pills have been the worst for me maybe becuse we have the feeling that the script. is the leagl ticket to get high?? but anyway there is only one way I know to stay clean thats friends family and talking to others.. sometimes Im on the site and then gone for weeks and when I feel down I pop back in and reading others posts makes me know we are not alone there are thousands like me who struggle day in and day out some of us stumble along the way and have to start over but thats just life.. Good luck in your journey I will be looking for you.

Hi I agree with open on this one I was a dope fiend for the better part of 20ys opiates where my downfall I tried phyic doctors a substance abuse counselors it wasent till I hit N/A thay I seen any change in myself it is a great program it is free just Google n/a meetings in your area this is critical for people like me and yourself N/A will teach you a whole new way of life //life on life's terms without the use of drugs give it a try......................................Gnarly..................................

For me the secret is to change my thinking completely. If I don't change nothing changes. The best way for me are the 12-steps of NA/AA, but to change I needed to actually work the steps with my sponsor. It really works if you work it.

No matter where you are in civilization there's a meeting close by. Google and/or call the hotline of either recovery program. They will set you up for a meeting. At the meeting get the meeting list for your area. Then go like your life depends on it because it really does. You can actually be clean and enjoy life at the same time. People do it all the time.
