The only thing that helped me was time. You can get some bananas and see if they help you, because they helped a little for me. Also, taking hot baths and showers will help ease it a little as well. I went so far as going out and got two heating pads and wrapped them around both of my lower legs below my knee for hours on end it seemed like.

Get a heating pad and put it on your legs or wherever your restlessness is.  I used to get it in my wrist too and the only thing that helped me was heat.  Sitting in a hot bath will also help alleviate some of the pain but honestly this is the last thing that will go away.  I would have so much trouble sleeping because of my restless leg so I put a heating pad on each one, set an alarm in case I did fall asleep with them on my legs (you dont want to burn yourself), and usually once I was sleeping good, I would take them off when my alarm went off and go back to sleep. You may only stay comfortable for a couple of hours but when your dting and getting no sleep, a few hours feels awesome! Hope this helps!

exercise, I would make yourself walk, swim everyday if possible, Epson Salt baths helped me for about 3 days, heating pads for me did not do much probably because I sat in a hot tub everynight.  That helped allot I would do this before bedtime around 8:30  But try everything you will get relief with one of someones suggestions.  Hang tough remember it will go away, I was seriously about ready to take myself to the emergency room on I think day 14 or 15 I was convinced my nerves are damaged in my legs.  I even posted and people said I should but I held off for another day and sure enough it stopped.  It will try and break you down this was the worst for me  but try different positions sitting on a chair with your legs folded up on the chair I slept many nights were I kicked all the covers of my bed and the cover on my mattress lol with one leg hangin off the bed and the other bent and up towards my side (If that makes sense) You can do this! If you can't sleep Melatonin and Valerian root helped so much I slept for at least 5 hours even on the worst nights.

Great advice u have above..stats say the more active u r the less often u will be afflicted with RLS

Why do u have it?  it is causd from a lack of dopamine..but it will pass when ur brain catches up on endorphin production..u have been feeding ur brain an outside source of endorphins/and u took it away/dopamine ie endorphins/it needs time to fel the loss...and it will adjust and catch up

Parkinsons disease/altho chronic and u r not/is caused by a lack of dopamine..the jerks and twitches associated with the disease..if a parkinsons patient stays busy they dont twitch as much..that is why when u r not focused and in bed it acts up the worst..but we gotta sleep...schizophrenia is the exact opposite and caused by too much dopamine inducing a paranoid state..neither r desirable for most of us

there is an article in the health pages on RLS..read it..if it is severe..there r dopamine enhancers that can help if it becomes a long term problem..but it shouldnt...keep us posted

Worried broke it down for ya, so i learned something too. I always thought of it as my body throwing a temper fit for more pills, time is the key like peace said, but i took very hot showers and just let the water run over me, that will give you about twenty minutes or so before they act up again. Try to catch some sleep during that time. I know it's awful but hang in there.

Everyone gave you great advise. I wrapped ace bandages around my calves and it helped. The pressure eases the muscles. Also, I have heard some members say they used a product called "Hyland's RLS". It can be purchased OTC. I never tried it myself but it could be worth a shot.
