Restless on Day 9

by dust2clay, Nov 05, 2009 04:17PM
I'm on day 9 off of norco and most of my wd are over but I'm still dealing with the RLS but my biggest complaint at this time is my restlessness.  I don't know if it's anxiety or wd still but my heart feels like it's pounding out of my chest and I feel restless like I have to go somewhere or do something.  The crappy part is I'm feeling restless and anxious but I have no energy to do anything about it.  I've been forcing myself out of the house for walks or going to see friends but this feeling won't go away!!  Has anyone else experienced this?  How long is this gonna last?  Also I'm on Pristiq for depression.

First, congratulations on 9 days!  Your restlessness should start to decrease very soon and your enery should increas soon also.  How soon really deoends on how long you were taking hydro and how much you were taking.

Have you tried Hyland's Restful Legs for the RLS?  Many here have taken it an claim it works wonders.
You are doing the right thing by going for walks, etc. -- the more excercise you can get, the better off you will be.  Look up the Amino Acid Protocol on the health pages -- certain amino acids seems to help greatly with anxiety, while l-tyrosine helps with energy problems.  I'd get the anxiety under control first (if you decide to take l-tyrosine, only take it in the AM and start with the lowest dose).  Protein shakes are good to help you get back to normal, too.

I know the restless feeling you are talking about and the lack of energy that can accompany it.  I wouldn't be surprised if you are very close to feeling MUCH better in the next few days.  I recall going through that once and by day 14 all of my symptoms had pretty much disappeared.

Having said that, I've never taken Pristiq.  How long have you been on that?  I know both tiredness and anxiety are side effects for some people.  So if you haven't been on it long, it may not be the best AD for you -- you should talk to your doctor.  Also, do some research on the amino acids if you have any medical problems (like high BP).  I'm sure you'll get pleny of other responses, but feel free to pm me if you'd like

Keep in mind that your body has been through a lot going through wd  -- it needs more time to heal.

Also, I hope you are in or looking into some sort of aftercare.  Take care.

Thanks for the advice!!  The pristiq is fairly new and I'm thinking about calling my dr and telling him to put me back on Lexapro that seemed to work before.  I just went to Walgreens and got the Restful legs and my legs have finally relaxed...aaahhh!  I really hope your right about feeling better soon this feeling *****!  I tried to take a xanex to see if that would help and then I was just REALLY tired and anxious haha!  This site is my only aftercare.  I'm really ashamed to talk to anyone close to me.  They are all really proud of me for beating this thing and I don't want to let them down knowing that I still have cravings and anxiety.  Maybe that sounds strange :)  I'm the strong one (yeah right!)

When I have rls I walk and take really long dipping sort of loping strides it look dumb but when my leg is jumping all around I could care less how it looks. It helps me a lot don't give up and don't use.
