It's been awhile since we had a roll call here, so everyone brag about their clean time. Sophie, I am so happy to see you on this roll call now. You worked so hard on that taper and stuck to your plan, so proud of you. I am almost 8 months, life has changed completely. Congrats to everyone:)

Ella here!   Glad you are back Giz!    Sophie,  keep going girl!   To everyone on their journey,  hang-tite and stay focused with your quit.  Post often and to all of you I say "  try everything except your DOC .......  don't give up or give in........  been clean since 2-16-09.........  feel like an oldtimer here now :)........  If an old chronic pain sufferor, Dx'ed with SLE lupus and fibro,,,,, on pain meds for 5 yrs;.....  if I can do this S***,  then anyone can.............  stay focused,  ask questions and try to learn all you can abt. recovery"

Trouble.. Your post got moved to the pain management forum.. I'm very sorry I did not post on it but sometimes when dealing with a extreme amount of pain.. Narcs are required.. I thought my stance on getting clean would be detrimental as I know you are truly suffering.. I also thought the members there would give you a new insight on how to deal and live with pain meds.. All of us are prone to relapse as a drug addict.. My suggestion though is because you are so close with your family you give control of the meds over to them so you are accountable.. just because we are addicts does not mean we have to suffer.. as far as the xanax.. I hope you continue the taper as with life we have many harsh things happen and learning to live with them without a mood stabilizer would be in your beast interest.. Please take no offense to what I have to say for you are a energetic Spirit with much joy in your life.. it would be a shame to dim it.. Use the pain meds as prescribed even if you have to hand them over.. sometimes we have to accept what we are dealt and suffering severely is not what the creator had in mind.. I say this with much warmth and respect for you are truly a very special person and I do hope you continue to post as many have grown very fond of you.. hugs with regrets for not saying this sooner..  warmly lesa

When I got clean I didn't have a road map to living clean, thats when I found NA    in the program I leaned the spiritual principles that drive the twelve steps of recovery. Since that day I have had the freedom to chose to use again or choose to stay clean.
I have walked thri\ough several hells since 1985 and I chose not to use. The most recent this year has been the brain surgery of my grandson and most recently my daughter having cancer cut out of her  body. Stil on the mend with that.
Through it It all I have been granted the Grace to be steadfast and true to my recovery.
In the course of 241/2 years I have had several concepts of a higher power, today I call it God...may you find a higher power of your own that works.
Congrats to all...One day clean is a sucess, keep comming back, IT WORKS
