Today,i saw how much influence drug addiction has on our mind. It is realy strong and cant be underestimated.Since morn i was feeling sick because of my migraine. Itook a prescribed drug for this ****in headache. Latter I felt flu like situation and tremendous body ache accompanied with anxiety. Whether it is withdrawl is not my question. I just want to share that at one point of time i felt so much compelled for drugs that i went to procure them by any means and at any cost. Only one thing was tickingin in my mind if i dont take drugs i will not be alright and i will die in suffering. I got some but decided to have them at my home. Meanwhile,i swallowed another dose of 2 tabs of common migraine drug,a combination of ergotamine tart. and proclorperazine maleate. Till i reached home i felt some relief and began to think if i should take the opoids which i procured. After a battle of yes/no.yes/no,i resisted and decided no. MY QUESTION IS TILL HOW LONG THE ABOVE MENTIONED SITUATION ARISES DURING RECOVERY???

Do you have arthritis? Relapse is NOT an option medicos. We deal with our troubles head on. The swelling in your face is getting better so that is a plus. You are doing great so keep moving forward.....sara
Thankyou very much sara. Puffiness is as it was earlier except it has subsided little on the right side of the face. It seems to me it is probably because of sinusitis but the swelling of hands is confusing me. Earlier it was dragging my mind towads relapse. Let me hope for the best.

I recommended my friend 3 lits of fluid per day but he takes only 1, is 1lit sufficient ? Please adv.
No i dont have any particular allergies except,in the recent past, when i consulted an ENT splst for mucus and mild swelling in my nose who diagnosed it as rhinitis due to pollen allergy and prescribed some meds. That is now almost alright.

Thankyou very much sara. I am fine but the puffiness of my eyes and face is a big worry. Though i met a physician and he prescribed some meds also but it has not proven that effective. I couldn't tell the doc that i am on wdls or i had been addicted to the stuff for so many years.

Yes he still needs fluids. We need that regardless if we are detoxing or not. Is this a close friend of yours?
I told him the same thing but he says he is worried because he has no diarhoea and mild sweating. Does he still needs lot of fluids.
i am not sure either about the quantity but i would think that it depends on teh severity of the sweating and the diarrhea... we need to replace the liquid we are losing and to keep a good level of potassium... tell him/her to drink and not to worry about how much as long as he keeps drinking from time to time. apple juice, gatorades, vitamin water, green tea, tonic water, fruit juices, whatever .... :)
I never kept the account of fluids that needs to be taken during w/ds but my friend wants to know. So what is the max amount of fluid he should take. It is his second day.
But sara,i never kept using as an option. However,sometimes our plight becoms worse that makes us to think again and again of relapse nd all that.

not as exagerated as your swelling but i do remember puffy eyes and slight swelling on my hands during my first weeks after detoxn when i woke up.... mine went away with the days, medicos...
Vicki595. I dont think this forum is a class room. I just wanted to clear my apprehensions from those fellow users who have experienced the same things what i have been experiencing. I dont see any harm in that. So it should not be irritating to anyone.
Agreed - have a doc check you out again to see what's going on - and it's NOT an excuse to relapse - you know that right?

Medicos-- You need to calm down here. No yelling...You share this forum with a lot of other people.
I think if you increase your fluid intake,you'll find the puffiness goes away. Our bodies go through a lot of changes after detox and you need to be patient with those changes.

Although,this is my 38th day clean yet, the puffiness of my face and hands iz not going. I had a consultation with ENT and a Physician,took medicine but still when i wake up in the morning i have watery eyes, puffed face and a mild swelling in my hands. It remains till afternoon. This thing is scaring me of relapse. The problem is if i will relapse i cant do it second time. I had all my blood tests done and they are all ok. Has anyone experienced the same thing, please respond.
