STOMACH PAIN COMMING OFF NORCO HOW LONG

I AM ON MY 4 OR 5 BEGINING OF BEING OFF NORCO PRESCRIBED BY A BACK SURGEON , I WAS ON 6 TO 8 PILLS A DAY FOR 3 YEARS . I WENT TO MY PERSONAL DR. MONDAY AND HE PUT ME ON CATAPRESS PATCH AND GAVE ME SOMETHING FOR MY STOMACH. THE STOMACH PAIN IS NOT QUITE AS BAD BUT STILL BOTHERING ME AND WAKING ME UP. HOW LONG DOES THE STOMACH THING LAST .  AND WHAT IS THE RSD THING I SEE PEOPLE TALKING ABOUT

It takes a while for the digestive tract to return to normal, could take a month or so. i am surprised you have not complained about the runs. thats usually the biggest problem.


did you mean RLS=restless leg syndrom (syndrome)?

O I HAVE THAT AND ITS TURNED DARK BLACK I DONT KNOW IF IT CAUSE OF THE MEDS MY DR. GAVE ME OR NOT BUT ID PUT UP WITH THE  RUNS IF THE PAIN GOES AWAY IN MY ABDOMEN ... DO U KNOW WHAT THE RSD IS THEY KEEP TALKING ABOUT THAT CAN LAST A LIFE AND NO CURE ... THANKS STEVE

so what did you doc say?  did the stomach pain exist at all when you were taking the pills?

NO NOT RSL I READ SOME THINGS ABOUT PEOPLE TALKING ABOUT NOW DEALING WITH I THINK IT WAS RSD OR RDS DIDNT KNOW IF THERE IS ANY SIDE EFFECTS AFTER DETOXING OFF THIS STUFF. THANKS AGAIN

NO I INJURED MY BACK TWO DISCS AND THEY DID 3 EMPIDERMALS PLUS PUT ME ON THIS PAIN MED. NORCO, AFTER ABOUT 4 MONTHS I STARTED HAVING STOMACH PROBLEMS AND WENT TO TWO GASTROLOGISTS TOLD THEM ALL THE MEDS I WAS ON AND TOLD THE ONE WHEN THE STOMACH PAIN STARTS HURTING THEY ONLY RELIEF I CAN GET IS TO TAKE PILL MEANT FOR BACK PAIN. THEY RAN LOTS OF TESTS AND NOTHING AND HIS RESPONSE WAS WELL IF WE CANT FIGURE OUT THE PROBLEM U MAY HAVE TO STAY ON THE PAIN MEDS FOR LIFE.   ABOUT 3 WEEKS AGO I LOOKED AT HOW MANY PILLS I HAD TAKEN OVER 3 YEARS AND THE SPINE SURGEON WANTED TO SEND ME TO PAIN SPECIALIST TO KEEP PRESCRIBING THE MEDS AND I SAID NO I DONT WANT TO KEEP TAKING THIS STUFF..... THATS WHEN I NOTICED I WAS HOOKED ON IT

I can tell you the digestive tract is messed up from wd's.......atleast it was for me.


but I also can tell you that I had a real bad stomach ache, that I let go once(while I was using) until a few days later when it got WAY OUT OF HAND.  then in the ER some er doc did an xray and said oh, I dont see anything wrong with you????????? luckily I knew a Radiologist, and he called the er doc and said........did you do a Cat scan? the er doc was dozing big time. my appendics was BURSTING !!  I was in total agony, flopping around like a fish.

the er doc finally did the scan and a few minutes later a surgeon said......your going in NOW !!  I said just knock me out, PALEEEZE !!  it was horrible, then I woke up smiling ear to ear. surgeon and the radiologist saved me.

but I dont know what more you can do other than what you have done........did you have a cat scan?

THATS WHY I DIDNT AND WENT TO MY PERSONAL DR. AND TOLD HIM I HAD TAKEN MYSELF OFF THE NORCO , HE SAID HE AGREED AND THOUGHT GOOD IDEA . HE PRESCRIBED CAMPOS I THINK CALLED PATCH AND SOME DI GEL STUFF . BUT BEEN 5 DAYS I THOUGHT WOULD STOP BY NOW , I HAVE A BOTTLE OF THE NORCO BUT I DONT WANT TO TOUCH IT EVEN TO RELIEVE THE PAIN OR TAKE A PART OF ONE . SONEONE SAID IF I TAKE A HALF PILL IM RIGHT BACK WHERE I STARTED AND I WANT THESE 5 DAYS BEHIND ME

yes your brain receptors are use to the doses, and they take a long time to get back to normal, and some say dormant. so it will always take more than usual for you. you will be right back to where you were.


I bet you want those 5 days behind you  !!


until your body shakes that 800 pound pill throwing gorilla off your back, you are going to go through some changes and yes many have reported of stomach issues some dry heaves too.  might be best to just keep fighting the war, but be damn sure  you dont give in or you will be right back to square one

not sure what type of stomach pain you aer exactly having...but most times diarrhea happens from WD and with that comes horrific gas pains . I always took Gas X  along with pepto for that. The Gas X works really really good on the gas pains, so maybe you could try that?
