Saboxin

I have heard a lot about Saboxin. I am currently going to a methadone clinic and I don't think it is designed to help people get over their addiction to pain medicine. If I miss a day then I get sick and have withdraws. I was wondering what are the side effects of Saboxin and what is the success rate of people that take it. I apprectiate any advice that you can provide and look foward to hearing from you. Thank you

Freddie~  Remember, what you read on the forum is purely anecdotal.  You should only take sub under a doctor's care and you need to be in withdrawal.

This is true, it will make you sick, you must be low enough on the meth and really start to feel the w/d's, but they told that to me and I just tood minute pieces, but that probably made things worse, i couldn't tell the difference between the w/d's from the meth or the reaction of the subs with the naloxone. Try waiting as long as possible first, but if you are at a low enough meth dose, and eat the smallest pieces your body can possibly handle, you might be okay. Everyone told me about the wait until w/d's, but I seemed to be okay, although i would start to feel w/d's before the night ended even on the meth (but that is probably a lot in head since the meth has large half life). Some people are different, I am not here to tell you what to do, just what i did, I am in no way a doctor, I have been to the meth clinic a lot and have even seen a bupe doc for like 1.5 months before so i knew how to use it. The way you get really sick is if you have a lot of the meth matabolite in you still and then you take a lot of bupe, just literally scracth the pill with your two front teeth the first day or two, take as little as possible. Read up on it and ask your doc, I am sorry to post anything that may make things worse for others, just wanted to share my story and help people and people are helping me, I myself am only on day 9 and know that that is only 10% of the way to normalcy and 0.00000001% of the way for full lifetime recovery. This formum has really convinced me to go to NA, I don't know if you have read any of my other posts but I am an intellegent educated person who holds multiple degrees and had a very prosperous job, I was very functional and even felt i did my job and school work better when high. For these reasons, I just felt like I was not like everyone else in the NA meetings, (i never went to one and still really haven't but have seen pics, on tv, on internet, etc, and plus I have seen teh type of people who come into the meth clinic) and would feel out of place there. I am terrible for thinking I am a 'more accomplished' addict than what i thought was at teh NA meetings but have realized that I am just as sick, if not more, than even a person who has to sleep in the gutter at night, we are all the same, we are sick, functional addicts or non-functional addicts, all the same. And we need eachother, I just thought i was not as bad as they were since i had more in my life (at least i thought, i don't even know any of these people). Moral of story, we need eachother and are all in same boat, NA is a must for me now. EVERYONE: Please i didn't mean to offend anyone, I said those things since i wanted people to know that it happens to the best of us and you shouldn't be afraid of NA, everyone here is amazing and if we all banned together, we could take over countries cause what in the world could be harder than this??? I even read about a lady saying she would have 10 babies in a row instead of this pain!!!!!

Freddie~  Sub cannot be taken while on methadone.  A person needs to be without methadone for AT LEAST 36 hours having been on 30mg or less. You need to be feeling withdrawal symptoms before you can be induced with Sub and only under a doctors' care.

Just so you know....

Hi freddie,   You are right about the clinics,in my opinion.Having been on it for 5 years, and just tapered and quit.
They seem to want to get our doses dose right up there, then we are there little zombies. They will tell you you may need to be on it for life. What it is,is cash for life, for them, while,WE,have to pee in a bottle with camera's looking at you.Bull poop!
I refused the suboxen because it seemed like another possible ploy.If you have GOOD drug coverage,I also have heard good things about it.
More people, with experience with sub will reply.
Stay tuned, and welcome to the forum.                                         karl
