Short term methadone?

20 year history of various opiates...on and off...This time..I'm suddenly hooked...Over the last 5-6 week I went from occasional use to lots of opiates..All day..every day for several weeks...now I'm scared...the last 5 or 6 days I suddenly found myself at 15-20 norco a day...Never done methadone but I got about (18) 10 mg. methadone pills.I MUST work for the next 2 weeks...I also have some valium and some klonopin to help...Anybody got a recipe for a relatively short detox?  I'm hoping that since it's a short term habit (this time)...I might be able to get off this stuff quicker..get back in the program and stay off for ever...Like I said...Scared. Can I do methadone for a week and be done?

i wouldnt play about with methadone,i think it could exchange one addiction for another, i hope you get some more helpful replies, but your opiate use is quite high, are you sure you cant get some time off? i cant help but worry that methadone for a week sounds not good! i would stay away from that, good luck and i hope a more experienced poster can direct you , sudie

Please be careful with the methadone.  I was on it for 7yrs and switched to sub.  Methadone is one of the worst wd's a person can go thru.  I've known people who were down to 1 mg and just couldn't stop.  Please try to get a little time off work and go cold.  After 3 days or so u will be at least able to function.  Let us know ur decision.

I have been taking tabs, and MS Contin regularly for over 10 years and can easily take ten Norco 10s and go to work or play basketball just fine.
But withdrawals are awful unless I have dones.  I mean it...If you take like 3 dones at first (crush and snort) then add one at a time about every 4 hours or so (the half-life crap of hydroco and semi-synthetic opiates isn't the same w/dones....they tend to build up a bit and stay with you  which is great)  so if I can get like 15-20 dones (10mg) and make them last like 3 days....the withdrawal is mostly psychological...the runs and leg cramps are negligent for me...I think it is the only way to back off opiates!
Again....If you can just find the dones...you will be fine.  I take as many as 5 the first dose but that works good all night long.....When next day comes take one or two every 5 hours or so.....Trust me..it works...Just DON'T MIX dones with any other opiate or Xanax....That kills lots of people.  I am over 50 and was a heroin addict at 19 in Germany.....I have seen it all dude...Good luck PEACE.  Also...synthetic dones will NOT show up on a 5 or 7 panel drug test...In fact most courts and job screens don't pay for the ten and 11 panel tests or a specific done test so you are free to **** all over it the day you take the dones...no ****  ;)   Good luck getting off the ****.....I am clean now for 4 months and I did it with dones
