Should I go to church & lignt a candle

Should I go to church & lignt a candle

I have a secret & would like imput.

I made a secret promise to God, if there really is a God.

I have debated the existence of God for most of my life.

As my profile reads, I’ve lost almost everything except for my life.  I’ve struggled these last 6 years to pay my mortgage b/c I needed my $$$ for my pills.

Moved in w/the boyfriend to lessen my bills.  Wow!  I just said it.  I moved in with him to lessen my bills so I could buy my pills.

I’ve had my house on the market for so long now w/no luck selling. (through realtor)  I have so much $$$ in that house that I’ve worked so hard for.  It shows about 10 times a week, but no buyer, & I’m about to loose it.

My secret isn’t in my profile b/c I was ashamed that I questioned the existence of God.  I made a promise to him a while back,(few months) that if he really existed, would he please send me someone that just couldn’t live without buying my house. I promised that I would quit doing the pills if this would just happen.

But of course, I didn’t quit.  I tried, but didn’t succeed.

I then questioned that if there is a God, then why would he allow my house to sell?  All I’m gonna do is spend all that $$$ on more pills.

(I’m entering my 3rd week, by the way)

Lo & Behold, as of 1 hour ago, there’s a contract on my house for the 1st time.  Of course a contract can fall through…….but now I have to believe that if I keep up the good work, it will sell!

Should I go to church and light a candle?

That is a topic up for debate. Many people can feel differnetly and get offended, or defensive for one reason or another.  I am catholic.  I do believe in God.  But I also believe in Satan.  Now that God has done this to help you, (lets assume)/ The devil is going to try to break you down. i.e. temptation, justifying your wrongs, etc.  He's always there to tell you, "IT'S OK"..."your only human", ETC...while this is true, you also have a brain..and you also have a heart...use them and you'll see how far you can get....  I truly believe that drugs are the most powerful tool the devil uses to tempt us to sin.  Look at what it causes, "lies, stealing, avoiding reality, justifying our wrong doings, becoming lazy, always putting our needs first, not caring about hurting others, exaggerating the level of pain we are in so that we can justify taking the meds, etc etc. the list go's on.

You'd better hold up your end of the bargain cuz if you don't the man upstairs may not be so gracious next time around.  Of course there is a God!  I wouldn't be here today without him.  :)

If you give back to God what he has given to you, you will be rewarded 10 fold.  Maybe not today, and maybe not tomorrow. In time you will see.  Faith in God with take you a long way.  Questioning the existence of God is somehting everyone has done.  Even the most faithful.  We lean of God in the tough times. When everything is ok, we question.  Why is that?

Just return a quiet thanks to whatever higher power you care to recognize - maybe doesnt even need a name today. Thats just a label. Many decent religions have various views about all of this. But they also have several things in common. A "golden rule" and the "10 Commandments" exist in some form in almost every religion. So do what you are comfortable with and truly be thankful that you do have a shot at another life.
