Should I tell my doctor---Day 3 ct oxy

Hello again, I first want to say thank you for your help with my 150mg oxy habit.  Through your answers ( although some were quite rude ), you accually helped me to go cold turkey.  I started Monday and haven't had a thing yet.  So I guess I'm on day 3.  I WILL NEVER DO THAT AGAIN!!!!

But I do come to you for more advice.  I took off of work Mon. and my regular days off are tues. and wed. and I called in sick thurs. and friday saying I had a wicked case of the flu and was overall run down.  Which I am!!  My job says that I have to have a doctors note to come back.  I made an app. for tomorrow.  Should I go in and play like I've had the flu or should I tell him/her the truth.  So far I have nothing on record about my past problem with drugs.  And I really don't want a written record of it either.  I know they say it's confidential, but I see on TV all the time that for one reason or the next the state or police can access your med records and they will know.

Any advice on what to do?

Thanks for your help also

May I ask a couple of questions.........
Do you have a family doctor and does he know you..........

To someone who didn't knowt the truth you could get away with the flu very easy..........

unless your involved in a criminal investigation for criminal charges.......then with a court order from a judge a detective can investigate you medical history............

You got good advice already.  If you are done with pills, stay busy doing other things.  Boredom is one of the leading causes of relapse.  I know...

The aches and pains, well, just have to suffer through that part.  Expect that for a week or so.  You will feel that deep, burning-type sensation longer then any other symptom.

hylands leg cramp medicine is available OTC, it helps with the aches, and u can use benadryl or simply sleep as a quasi-anti-anxiety med. (doctors have recommended both to me, rather than prescribing benzos which just lead to another addiction. but i do agree, making yourself move around helps the most.

you and i are pretty much in the same boat. same dose, quit around the same time so i know how you feel. I forced myself to walk my dog today, and did a lot of job searching and it made me feel a lot better. good luck.

Well, I agree also!  So that's done.  I was just wanting something for the muscle aches and pains.  WD was very hard, and as Prettyls said, mornings are the best time.  Cause as the afternoon comes around the fever and pain comes back.  But each time it's a little less and less.  I actually got out of the house and did a little lite work.  And now it's 5pm and I don't feel too bad.  It almost seems like if I keep moving, the aches reduce a little.  But when I sit still, they become more intense because I dwell on them.

Anyway I want to know why not get Tamaflu?  Does it have opiates in it or something?

Thanks for your help again.  Wish me luck and God Bless you all!!!

I really don't think that they can access your records for no reason. If you were arrested for a drug related issue, they may be able to supeona them. but your doctor is definitly not allowed to call the police or state based on what you tell him, as long as you arent threatening suicide or hurting somebody else.

bottom line, fake the flu...enjoy your rest, keep going, stay strong, and beat the addiction.

I agree. Just say your sick. He'll obviously notice somethings wrong (that you look like you have the flu). Tell him you need a doctor's note for work. 99% of doctors have no problem giving an excuse cause it's not going to hurt them.

Wow, that's a tough one. If you think you're gonna get through the wd's with no problem, I'd just tell the doc you feel like you have the flu. Unless he does a drug test (which I doubt), I don't think he could tell. Just don't take the Tamiflu if he prescribes it!!
