Shrinkage?

Not THAT kind of shrinkage! :-)

One Idiots POV:

Today is 1 calender month since I bought pills. Yipeee! My bank account is happy too!
13 days straight. Never would of made it w/o this place, that's for sure.

Being an anal retentive, I started charting my cell phone a few weeks ago. Quite staggering to see the chart of phone calls since I have severed all ties with anyone associated with pills. Not a little bit, I'm talking 90%+ of my phone activity was related to buying. I hope that someone out there realizes how much your world shrinks and revolves around this addiction.

My phone rings now and I am happy to answer because I know it's not drug related....although I get one now and then. It is wonderful to tell these people where to go! Other than that, my folks call and friends from out of town/state. I am amazed, down right shocked, that I really don't have any local people I can now consider as friends. Everyone I know is a user. Coke, pills, booze, whatever their DOC is....and I have been buried in that world since I was old enough to drive and score...25 years ago.

It's so nice to go out now and just have lunch. Be able to actually taste what you are eating, REMEMBER what you ate. Talk to people....be human again.

It spooks me to think how much damage I have done to my gray matter. Just to feel the 'ol brain "drop into drive" is some feeling. I have plenty of black spots that I will never recover, but it's been a long time since my brain and I have been on the same page.

I thought drugs were mind-altering/expanding? Sure they are...they keep shrinking and shrinking your world until you have nothing left except the desire to fuel your addiction.......

Hope somebody out there can escape this shrinkage. It's well worth it. :-)

Gary

Well on my way. Sure I have some downs, but the ups are worth the hassles of the downs and I know the downs are heading for the exit door. ;-)
Peace and good luck to everyone! THANKS to ALL that helped little 'ol ME. I'll be sticking around, just wanted to make a silly post. One of those days....yes sir!

i can soooo relate to your cell phone thingy. as a matter of fact, yesterday i lowered my plan because i dont use all the minutes and text i had. i was using over 800 texts per month and last month i only sent 80 text messages and only used 250 minutes of calls. i was way over 1,000 minutes per month before. heck there are days that my phone doesnt even ring.
it is so nice not to be bothered with that sh*t anymore. and like you said my bank account is happy.
i heard on the radio this morning, that if you smoke  a pack of cigarettes a day, if you quit smoking you could save 2000.00 a year. so that will be my next thing to quit.
