Simply Sleep, Benadryl= still haven't slept since I was using...

I have tried it all!  10mg Valium...NOTHING.  I'm 5'7" 133lbs.  I don't know if that's even important?? I want to sleep like a baby.  Maybe Nyquil?  I have RLS like you wouldn't believe.  I take 3 "Simply Sleep," 2 "Benadryl" 2 "Flexiril," and all of that only gives me a seemingly un-interupted 3/4hours max.  After that, I toss and turn.  I get pissed off seeing 401am turn to 601...and then FUKC!  Time to go to work...or school.I know that 3/4 hours of sleep/nt  may seem like a ton for some of you...but I am a full time student/ full time biz manager 40/+ hours a week.  I rely on my 8-10hours of sleep for sanity.  I have no days off to "re-boot," not to mention the fact that I use a ton of energy just being me.  

I have been clean 5 days now...feeling better...EXCEPT the .  Unfortunately...If I can't get to sleep tonight...It may be a sobriety deal breaker.  I don't want to go back (except for my intese cravings.)  :)  Seriously...I just want to sleep.  Any ideas?  NOTE: my Dr's office is closed for the weekend. :(

what was your DOC? i know when i wd'd from methadone it was 21 nights before i got more than 2 hours sleep a night and that was with prescript sleep aids.  but done is the longest wd. time.  if it's hydros or norcos, it shouldn't be many more nights.  i found that the benadryll made me worse... they just make me jumpier, all of the over the counter sleep aids do.for the rls, get some hylands restless legs and take hot baths. some one in here a month or so ago reccomended wrapping the legs with elastic bandages.  said it helped her a lot.

Congrats on day 5 days....i will tell you for me that clonodine i think was the only thing that helped me get any sleep....I know when i went through benzo w/d;s i didn't sleep for like 15 days, if i did it wasn't much, and nothing helped...But i didn't have to go to work...SO i totally understand how frustrating this can be...
Try the nytquil it can't hurt....I will say a prayer that you can get some sleep....

i know it is more than prescribed but i took 4 tylenol pm...i helped some.  a few weeks ago i got sleep formula from gnc...all natural and it works great.  dont give in, it does get better

I have used TylenolPM and Nyquil nighttime (not together!!) LOL
Both of them have worked for me....

I tired alot of the same things you did ,I had alot sleep issues What ended up working for me was sub lingual melation . I was sleeping a few hours a night after a few days threw the night in about a week of taking it ,i swear by it now.

BTW: my DOC is VICODIN  (pharmecuetical grade heroin.) aah.  ---oops...bad artistica.  :)  I'll be good.

That is a very interesting idea to wrap legs w/ bandages.  I kinda feel like when I take benadryl...it does create a more restless feeling...hmm.  You are a  smart lady:)  What about the flexiril?

sublingual melatonin is a supplement you can get at most vitamin store .You put it under your tounge it melts ......

cool.  that makes sense.  Sub (under) lingual (languages/ translates into mouth/tongue) melatonin (a naturally occuring substance found in the brain which induces one into a sleep.)  I'll take a look for it:)

the flexeril could be helpful.  i take it now for the muscle spasms in my back at night and it helps me sleep, but i'm not in wd's.  the melatonin helped me a lot when i was wd'ing, and you can get it at any vitamin or health food store.  some regular grocery stores even carry it in their vitamin section.  you can safely take up to 20 mg's a night for a short time.  you need to have a completely dark room or weay an eye mask.

I started taking sevent flower 2 days ago and it is REALLY helping me get more sleep than none.  it is also taking away the w/d symptoms. it is 100% all natural and there are no side effects but you cannot take it around your other meds.  wish you the best (again) LOL

Hi There...

Congrats on your personal drive for success...I can totally relate :-)

I'm 67 days clean and still don't sleep 100%...exercise like crazy, eat right, etc but I see the clock turn as well...it's all good though becuz the bod is still trying to adjust.  During the first couple of weeks of wds, I used excedrin pm...gave me 4-6 hours of restless sleep but it was sleep.

You'll be surprized where you can get energy when you need it....I started to analyze the wds a bit and when I saw my leg muscles actually jumping around..well..fascinating :-)

Consider this a learning experience, one you can grow with...

Hi I just wanted to let you know that I'm using Excederin PM except since I'm on day 8 of recovery I take 3 instead of 2. It does work but not for 8-10 hours. About the leg issue I sure can relate to that!! I take a really hot bath with Epson Salt in it and it seems to do the trick for me at least for a few hours. Sleep deep that's my prayer for you.

Try Melatonon 5mg.. I would have bet money it would not work when I was buying it but it did. I can't say it will for you but it really made a difference for me.. I was sort of dopy the next morn from it and when I awoke like you did iit was easy to fall right back to sleep. I heard someone here post you an take up to 20mg night and sleep in really dark room..Get it today and try it,, I made myself go and get it..

I have also been taking 2mg Klonopin and it would not let me sleep like I was use to.. Just like you I would wake in 1-4 hrs and toss and turn and it was makine me nuts. I went after about 3 nights and bought the Melatonin at GNC.. I hope it works for you..

Try Melatonin. It can be purchased at any pharmacey/supermarket. Anywhere they sell vitamins. Its a natural sleep aid. It should work. It worked for me and I insomnia was the worst of my w.d symptoms. Good luck...

when i couldnt sleep i always took a bath right before bed to kinda calm me downn not sure if it realy helped but it made me comfortable

Avisg is right, but there is also regular Melatonin that can just be swallowed, they come in 1, 3 and 5 mg. Be careful though as taking too much will leave you really groggy the next day...

Tonight, take a long, HOT bath with Epsom Salt (not sure of spelling) lol, purchase both the Melatonin, (not expensive at all,like 5-10$ depending on where you go and how big the bottle) and also Hylands restless legs. After the bath, drink some tea while taking the Hylands and Melatonin and then hit the sack. You should fall asleep. With me, the melatonin would put me to sleep, but my RLS would wake me up, so I would just get up, walk around then take more Melatonin and go back to bed. This worked for me after a weeks of barely any sleep. Within a few days you will be sleeping more and more...till you don't need it.
