Skip days for withdrawel oxycodone?

I'm not gonna drag this on forever promise! I am taking 15 15 mg oxycodones daily! Trying to cut down fast as possible. Would skipping a day and taking 4 the next be wise. Obviously it would be hell for the day and night. Staying @ 4 15mg for a while. Skip a day then two? Does this make any sense? Any advice would be great!

I'm about to face W/D, except there will be no tapering for me.  I've used everything I had.  I'd hoped to taper, but I have absolutely no real control over the drug.  It controls me.  You know.  Old story.

If you want to try tapering, your best bet is to have someone help you.  If you're like me, you won't be able to do it alone.  There's just no gradual reduction at all for me.  Hell, it keeps increasing, leaving me to deal with W/D every month!  If you get someone else to hold your pills and dole them out... Heck I don't know if it'll work, but if they are a good friend/loved one and good at hiding the pills or keeping them on their person, it may work.  Good luck and blessings to you.

You're at 225 mg/day and that's a pretty good dose.  It's going to $uck, period.  Pretend you have the flu.  Get the immodium, start the Thomas recipe, stay warm, showers or baths to chase the chills and lots of gatorade or water.

As for your plan, I know you want to make it as gentle as possible but it's not going to help.  Your plan calls for you to basically reduce by 75% on day 1.  That's not a taper.  A reduction of 75% is not much worse than the reduction of 100 percent you'll be taking just a few days later.  That IS if you can even only take 4.

Tapers work, again, yours isn't one.  Just trying to be a realist here because I've done it a zillion times from a zillion different dosages over the years.  I wish I had the simple answer but it's simply time to "pay the man".  You don't have to do this with panic.

Learn what you can and get it done.  It's in you if you want it.

The purpose of a taper is to reduce the wd symptoms.  It is a very gradual reduction in dose to get your body more comfortably used to getting less drugs.  It's a band aid removed slowly and ct is a band aid ripped off.

Tapering is also nearly impossible for an addict to do properly on their own.

Not sure where the 15X comes in but if you don't have enough to taper properly, you are better off to just get it started.

Can you get any help with the family or a day or 2 off for sick leave?    I hope you get off easy with this and I wish you the best.

just cold turkey it....it's inevitable. you've got to do it sometime. i never had the willpower to taper. if it was there, it took my normal amount. i think you'd just be dragging out the agony if you try to taper the way you are talking about. i've been at that dosage before and it's so much easier to just get that week over with. really by day 5 you'll start to notice a big difference if you just go for it. no need to drag out the process. it ***** bad enough as it is. do you have any vacation or sick time for the "flu"? i wish you good luck.

Hey,

If you've got 30 pills then you only have 2 days worth of your regular dose. Tapers are done over months, not hours, the only thing tapering with that few pills is going to do is make your wd longer.

You're not screwed, it's doable.  You're going to feel it and won't sleep much but it's normal stuff.  You can do it.  It's not a death sentence.  It's not uncommon to work during detox.  People do it here all the time.

The fastest way to feeling better is to stop using.  You only have to do it once if you do it right.  We can all help when you're ready.

Have around 30. Thinking the halflife would be half what is was the day I took 15! Not taking th a day would bring it down to 7 and so forth. Dreading the pain! I have to work and take care of family. Can't take more than 10 hrs off. I'm screwed!!!! Thanks for posting!!!

I could never skip a day if they were in my possession. Might be a decent idea on paper, but I don't think it is realistic. Hardly anyone on here can taper that quickly. I'd say just prepare to go ct and get ready so you can just get it over with if you are down to your last few.
