Sleepless Nights

Hi, I am currently a Foster Mother to a now 6 month old baby girl.  We have had her since she was 2 weeks old due to the fact that she was born Crack Addicted.  We have no idea how much crack her mother smoked but we do know she did and had no prenatel care.  My question is has anyone read any research indicating that Crack Addicted babies have bad sleeping patterns?  She still wakes up 3 times a night and hungry.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

At 6 months a lot of babies are still getting up a few times a night .I wont even tell you when my son FINALY started sleeping threw the night LOL..

At 6 months thats really not that unusual.My granddaughter is 8 months and she still gets up twice a night for feedings.I commend you for what you and your husband are doing,shes a lucky little girl to have you both.God Bless.

6 months...any withdrawals from the crack would be finsished I would think...havent read much on long term effects tho....my friend works with those babies as well but she doesnt see them at 6 moths...only as newborns

I have a good friend that did her internship at Detroits childrens hospital and she dealt mostly with crack addicted babies..i will give her a call and ask her what she thinks..there are amny reasons kids won't sleep..I had a few of those too.(i have 6 kids) have you taken her to a dr about it?

I do know crack babie syndrome was very much blown out of proportion and they did find most of it to be false alot of the time. That was a backfire of the 80's and war on drugs. I just saw something on this last night...how weird. However it can definetly be causing some issue on her esp if the mother used pure crack without regard. Also i got a healthy 3 year old that hasnt slept a night since birth so take that as a thought too LOL!! I pray for the poor little thing. Thats no way to come into the world, bless you on taking her. Some people have HUGE hearts today...makes me still have faith in human kind
