ADDICTION: SUBSTANCE ABUSE COMMUNITY
So glad i didnt relapse yesterday.

So glad i didnt relapse yesterday.

So yesterday I posted that I was freakin out for a hydro. Well thank God I had my husband & this website!! W/o these things I would have def gotten the pills & been done trying. This is my 1st solid day w/ nothing. I have for the past week been taking a half of a 10 a day & have still been experiencing withdrawls. I was hoping that by me taking that small dosage for a few days would help me with the awful w/d pains. So far so good. Last night was pretty rough as far as sleeping & stomach pains. Today I just have a solid headache that won't go away. So what it is I'm wondering is do u think the tapering will have helped me or do I have the worst still coming?

Congrats!!!!!! I read your thread yesterday and I was worried that you may relapse.  I couldn't find the encouraging words that I thought might help but I hoped you wouldn't give in.  As far as tapering goes....it didn't work for me.  I think if you are really done the tapering probably helps the W/Ds.  But when I tried it I would get down to my last few and decide to take them all at the same time to get rid of them.  This of course resulted in me going back to my old habit.  Still tapering for the first few days helped with the pain of W/Ds.  Unfortunately the emotional part of it still comes in even if there is no pain and sometimes that is harder to deal with.  Good Luck.  We can all do this.

tapering always helps.....things won't be nearly as bad as if you went CT. Great job....you are going to start to feel better really soon. Be proud you stuck to the taper-I've never been strong enough to do that so kudos to you!!!  You're going to start to feel better----you went a week with only 5 mgs a day.....you're just about there. Give it about 2-3 more days and you will be surprised how GREAT you are going to feel. Don't dread the future...the worst is behind you!

Stay Strong
