Some relief!

Today is day 5 since I have went CT off my DOC. I had taken a few tramadol to help me get though the horrible withdrawal symptoms the first 2 or 3 days but I flushed them too because I felt it was just setting me back. But anyways...Day 5 and I actually feel like I am going to make it though this big ol speed bumb! :-) I'm by far 100% but I do feel much better about myself know that I am not on drugs and have no desire to be. I still have alot of anxiety and still can't sleep much but I don't hurt near as bad and still have little 'stomach issues'. I know I still a long road ahead of me but it's def. doable! This IS doable! :-)

Thank You. It helps to get encouraging words from someone. :-) I actually managed to get about 5 to 6 ours of sleep last night..it was tough falling asleep but I managed to stay there. My anxiety is worse at night when I am laying down...so restless. I woke up this morning and my body is just so sore. I'm not sure if I slept wrong or if its part of withdrawal but I'm pretty sore. But other than that I AM making it. I got this! :-)

Congratulations! You should be over the worst and coming down the other side of the mountain. Unfortunately, sleep is the last thing to get back to normal, or at least it was for me. You have a great attitude and I believe you'll beat this. I don't know if you've tried it or not, but Sleepytime tea with lemon and honey and a peppermint stick helped me relax in the evening. Also, getting up and moving around and just taking a walk around the block gets the blood pumping and activity during the day will help tire you out so you can get some rest at night.

Great job and please keep us updated :) It really helps to see that this can be overcome.

Yes, I have tried benedryl and melatonin....neither have worked. But if sleep is all I'm loosing I can deal with that. It's not forever. It's hard to deal with and I do still get discouraged mostly at night but I'm getting my life back.

So glad about your clean time!  As ricart said - you're going to feel better soon....Have you tried any OTC sleep aids like Alteril or Melatonin?  I use benedryl when I can't sleep and it almost always works.

Good luck getting back your zzzzz's!
