Starting back

I quit drinking and had to be admitted to the E.R for withdrawels from alcohol. So I quit for a month and strarted back drinking 3 days ago. I am stopping today but am afraid that my withdrawals will come back. I would rather drink than go through what I went through. Woulld 3 days of back drinking cause me to have the same reaction that I had at first. I have trazodone for hallucinations and to help me sleep. Should I be OK?

Ever heard " I drank enough to float a battle ship"?
Well I don't know about a battle ship, but I could float a pretty big bass boat for a while on the burbon I drank. Never had any hallucinations, but did have some really f'uped dreams for a while that woke me up struggling.
If you have been drinking for 3 days, NOW is the time to stop it or you will be back at square 1. I drank pretty heavily for about 35 years, I have been sober for 7yrs. I am now 50. you do the math as to when I started. I would not wish that W/D on anyone. All I can tell you is Do not drink! I'm not sure what Trazadone is but, I used valium and quit C/T. It was the hardest thing I ever did.
I think you will be O.K. but you have to stop now, if that means going to the hospital so be it! Don't take the meds with anything to drink and see if that will work.Call the Dr. that prescribed the meds, tell him you fell off the wagon for a few days, he has heard it before and get back with the program.
You can do this if you really want to!!!!
Good luck!!! Feel free to PM me if I can help in any way!!!

There is an alcoholism forum.  Maybe they will be able to offer more accurate information.  most of the people in here are dealing with pain killers.

I wish you the best.

I would drink a few drinks and fall asleep. I know that I can quit and need to just take time out for myself and not trying to be the perfect perosn for everybody. This is what happens when I get stressed. I am on meds to stop the cravings but did not take them when I went out of  town.

I don't know if 3 days would put you right back to square one..but it's worth a shot now before you continue..I know that alcohol w/d is a very sreious matter. I have a friend that just went through this except we didn't know he had quit cold...he had hallicinations and even called the police on himself because he thought there were people in his house, but thank god he did call because they took him to the hospital where he stayed and detoxed and i am happy to say he hasn't had a drop to drink since..When you say you drink at night..how much..a few drinks or alot...someone will be along that would be better able to answer this better than i can...good luck

I have been drinking vodka, wine and beer. Not non-stop, but at night though. Last night I slept on and off but I did get SOME sleep. I know that the trazodone is suppose to help for with hallucinations and that's my biggest fear. Sleeping on and off for a few days I can handle but the hallucinations is something I don't think I can take. I am scared to call my doctor becuase I dont want them to put me in the hospital.

how much have you been drinking?  If it's been non stop for 3 days straight, you may have some.  Acute alcohol withdrawl can be life threatening.  You maybe should call your doctor?
