Starting w/d's today HELP

I am starting a 24 c/t from lorcet today in order to be placed on suboxone. I am so ready to change my life so I hope this goes well. since I have quit a few times b-4 i know what to expect. The dr. said i have to be off the lorcet for 24 hrs. in order to get the suboxone. The problem is i also take a small dose of valium. I do not abuse it at all. The dr's office also said I need to be off the valium too. But you cannot even at a small dose c/t valium! So here's the problem. If I c/t off the lorcet and still take the valium will the dr. even give me the suboxone? The reason I need to know is I don't want to be in w/d's for 24 hrs for nothing. As I have 3 small children and I am unable to completely detox right now. I am desperate to get off the lorcet since i take 15-20 a day. I have done my research on suboxone and only plan to use it for the shortest amt. of time possible. If anyone can offer any advice I really appreciate it!

Wow, that's a tough one on the valium.  So your doctor Does know you are taking valium, or did you ask that question about the valium/suboxone in a more hypothetical question to your doctor's office?  What do they suggest?  I know I've been strictly told no valium, klonopin, nothing like that while on Suboxone....

Yes i have told the dr. I am on the valium. I have called them several times today. to try to see what to do. I am soo confused!! I am hoping so badly to be able to get the suboxone to help kick this evil addiction! Does anyone know if it would hurt to not take the valuim for 18- 24 hrs? would that send you in to w/d's from the valium? One thing thats bad is the valium helps with the anxiety from the w/d's. I just hope the dr. gets back to me soon! Again thank you sooo very much and any advice is helpful!

No one can really advise you on this,it's just too serious a thing when you are about to be induced on Sub.
What time is your appt.?  You're just freaking out right now. You''ll have plenty of time to ask the doctor about this when you get there. Just bring it with you and try to relax.

You'll be fine..

Okay...good!!

Now here's what you do: Start drinking water and juices. Be sure to eat.

Do not think about the pills. Get busy, later on read...keep yourself distracted!!

Get rid of all pills in the house. This is important!!  You'll be tempted and you want to be as free  and far away as possible.  Just focus on tomorrow @ 1pm.  Once you start the Sub. it works very quickly.

Good luck~

It's very common for a doctor to prescribe a benzo for the initial withdrawals before Suboxone induction. However, the number of doctors that allow it during Suboxone treatment is very low. The best advice is to do what the doctor suggests. Many Sub doctors drug test as a condition of treatment and will dismiss you if you test positive for another drug....leaving you to detox from a large dose of Sub.
