Stay true to you.....

It's my hard to lie cheat and steal and sometimes worse when we are in the thick of our addiction.  But it takes real courage to stop using and most importantly to stick it out!  I have tried to stay true to one person throughout the last 26 Days and that person is me! I had never been through something like this before and I wasn't entirely prepared  for what I would encounter and still do today.   What I can say is that I made a decision on my last day using / my first day of not using ...and that decision was to tough it out,  get through this and get my life back on track.  one thing was sure ....I told myself if I used again or if I caved in to any pressures then I could forget this one opportunity at life and begin heading down the road of destruction and death. It was that cut and dry for me. My brain may have been in a cloud and all fcked up but I was able to make this decision bcause I knew what was best. I think we all know the right thing to do....it's just not always the easiest and sometimes it's the hardest thing to do but its still the right thing to do.  There is no justification at all , for me,  to begin using again so I won't. It's 8am right now and my morning ritual is to thank my God fr giving me this day and to look at myself in the mirror, smile and mouth to myself...."yeah...thats what I like to see!"  it works for me....sleep is really returning for me and last night I can't even remember being awake more than 2 hours! Huge advance! I heard it from day 1 although it was hard to comprehend but it does get so so much better!
