Stimulant Addiction

by Robaroot, Oct 24, 2008 08:08AM
So for the last 15 years I've been addicted to stimulants.  It started with crystal meth, which I used daily for about 7 years. In desperation, I went to a psychiatrist who said I was bipolar and I was self-medicating ADHD w/meth.  He put me on a huge amount of medication, and a huge amount of stimulants.  Eventually, I got off the meth, but I continued to take more and more stimulants (Aderrall, Dexedrine, Ritilan).  Sometimes, he would give me all of these at once.  He doesn't even see me (for over two years) I just call him up, tell him what I need, and he mails the prescription.  Well, it's all gotten out of hand.  I can't go on like this.  I tried to cold turkey about three times.  That didn't work.  Going into rehab won't work because they will take me off of them in 3 days (Medicare Rules) and it will make me crazy.  I've found a doctor who is going to try to help me slowly taper off Concerta, because you can't abuse it.  But it's so hard to just take 2 when you have a whole bottle sitting there.  I need and want to get off this **** and get on with my life.  I can't allow that everything I do is motivated by stimulants.  It's going to be so hard.  I'm really scared.

Hi! Get rid of the pills so you wont be tempted . You have to want to do this for yourself, no one else can do it for you . I know you say detox doesn't work for you . You still might want to do it ,because its the safe way to go. Good luck and  may GOD bless you in your journey in JESUS name a men
