Stomach bug

It's making it very hard to taper while I have this stomach bug....my son also has it so does anyone know how it feels to change dirtgy daipers while going through wd's...now throw a stomach bug in the mix. Shoot me. I have successfully tapered for 2 weeks from 200 mgs of ultram a day down to 50 mg a day. I really wanted to totally stop last night but I am so week right now I think if I stay at 50 mgs for 2 more days it'll be ok...Right?? I mean I feel like I am letting myself and a few of you down. Noone knows about this but me so they won't understand why I feel so bad for so long. The worse thing was that I was taking Imodium ad for the wd's and now my body is having a hard time getting rid of this bug because of it. I just need some reassurance I guess....not looking for pity or anything just tell me it'll be ok

the Immodium and other opiates you are taking are slowing down the process of your body getting rid of your stomach bug.

i would use enough of your opiate so that you feel 'well', but do not get 'high'. (usually about 1/2 of your normal dose.)

hold off on the Immodium as it is site-specific, and meant to slow down intestinal activity. you want your body flushing out the bug as quickly as possible.

ginger and peppermint are both good, natural stomach remedies. try a ginger and/or peppermint tea.

be well.

I totally agree... you poor thing.  Damn, I couldn't even take care of myself much less my 3 children.  You're in my prayers... I think you should just wait til the flu is over with.  My two oldest ones were takin' care of the 5 year olds needs and most of mine :(  Now I'm takin' care of all three which is alot more than I've done for them in a very long time with or without the pills.  Take care and you are in my thoughts and prayers Lil.

I would definetely stay on 50 mg for a few more days, you are almost there anyway, so a couple of days shouldn't make any difference. And knowing firsthand how hard it is to go from 200 mg to 50 mg tramadol in such a short time you must really be proud of yourself. You are nearly there!!!

I have the stomach bug too, It has been horrible.  It is just awful to change diapers while going through w/ds let alone the stomach bug too.  I know how it is to go through that while in detox, it just takes every single bit of energy that you can muster up to do it,, It is really a task and a half and remember, you cant call in sick when you are.  You are always mommie no matter what.  I agree with all the others, just try to stay where you are at until this bug is gone.  I am wishing you a very happy recovery, Peace, G
