Stopping caffeine

To anyone thinking about stopping coffee ct....DON'T ...you will get serious headaches...., anyway, that is what happened to me.....

Oh..don't I know it. I am , or was, so addicted to coffee. I love the stuff. I love beans....LOL But I am down to one cup in the am now. but..oh...the headaches..........

I will never give up my coffee ! They will have to pry it from my cold dead hands.  Are you giving it up because of health issues ?  They have a coffee that is 50/50 decaf and regular. You could kinda taper off.  Sorry about your headache.   Mary

NO, I still drink a pot a day of half regular, half decaf..... I spread it out over the day til about 6pm....sometimes I'm not home or no coffee is available, and i don't have any til morning and OMG......the headaches are killer....one more addiction...I've quit alcohol, cigs and now pills......and NO...they aren't taking my coffee away....hehe

Oh yeah....I too have gone through the caffeine withdrawals when I didn't have my a.m. coffee.   the headaches suck!!!!  I learned my lesson.  I didn't even give up my cup of coffee and hot tea (during the day) when I was detoxing...which they recommended because it could increase anxiety.  I was ok tho......lol

Seriously, the taper plan is the best way off coffee. Do not quit c/t! Horrendous headaches could result. Coffee tip of the day. Light roasted beans are higher in caffeine than dark roasts.

I was thinking about stopping the caffeine because I saw a show on TV where in rehab they told this guy he couldn't have chocolate because of the caffeine.

Coffee is the one vice I can't give up, I see it as the lesser of all the evils when it comes down to addiction, and plus if I didn't have my quad espresso from starbucks every morning I wouldn't have many friends, lol.

The headaches are the worst  I agree. When I was pregnant I started 1//2 decaf and 1/2 caffinated coffee mixed to gether to slowly decrease me caffine intake. Every couple of days I would use more of the decaf till finally I was just drinking decaf. Worked for me.

Really, wow, I was completely unaware of that, because I can drink about 47 cups of coffee in a day, and still not have the same kick in the arss as on quad espresso, maybe it's in my head.

Coffee tip of the day. Coffee when it is first brewed (or shots pulled) is an anti-oxidant. Within minutes in turns into an oxidant. Don't believe it? The smell will tell you. As coffe is being brewed it smells so good. Stick your nose in the pot 10 min later and it turns your nose.

before i had to have coffee in the morning, i use to be addicted to dr. pepper, bad...And i tried to stop the dr pepper a bit and had no idea why i was cathing such bad headaches...Until my doctor told me...

I have slowed down on the dr pepper alot, but have to have at least 3 big cup of coffee in the am..Can't give it up...
