Struggling w past addiction and new pains

Okay, I'm a newbie here so please go easy. I do have 25 years of being clean and drug and alcohol free this coming October. I have been very ill these last few years and only seems to be getting worse. Anyway I hate taking meds of any kind and my dr's are always harping on me that I need to and take them regularly. I would rather go naturopathic or nothing. I have lots prescribed to me, but only take them when on death's door. Currently I am going through a massive spout of migraines that I can't kick. I have fioricet and tramadol and they are doing nothing at all right now, had to take a zofran so I can keep some food in me today as well, can't take imitrex cause of my blood pressure, cant take ibuprofin because of stomach ulcers. I resorted to taking 1/2 a xanex to see if it was stress related to no avail. I was wondering what others have taken to help with this? I do not want to go back to the er for their toridol shots and iv's and surely dont want to resort to taking my demerol the drs gave me.
Any help in this struggle would be most appreciated.
Thank you

The only pill that comes to mind for me is, Trazodone. Hope this helps you with the stress and depression. Good luck to you.

Ok just letting you know im in the process of setting up programs for addicts to help them heal with energy work and massage...I am a CMT(Certified Massage Therapist) who specializes in energy work and Healing the body I have done alot of research as of hate and going toward eastern asian medicine instead of western medicine because western medicine only trys to take the sympthoms away not fully heals what needs to be healed. The body has energy barriers over time those get broken down when they break down enough it manifests itself into sympthoms of something wrong in or on your body... My job is to go and fix those barriers so your body is healthy agian..... Yoga would be awesome for you as you can self fix those barriers too by meditation and yoga... if you look up meditation or yoga which everone you wanna do itll help you understand more and know what to do....I hope your day is awesome.

I do see a neurologist and an internal med doctor, he is wanting me to go in for a shot of torridol from the office! In response to massage I do use natural salves to try and help reduce the tension and some natural oils as well, personally I don't have the time or income for massages. Am thinking about yoga as a way to help with stress, but that would be dependent on my body "allowing" me to do that! LOL
I know that I need to start on something more permanent for the stress and depression, but have no clue where to begin with something that is non addicting, does not mess up the gi and does not make you a zombie or gain a huge amount of weight. I know that xanex is not the answer but it is a quick fix at this point when life is just too flipping much!
(I have a husband serving overseas, an 18 year old that just pretty much threw his future away, and two other more grown children, mix this in with an insane work load right now and all my health issues and I would say yeah just a little bit of stress)

Hi newbie, don't worry, we'll be very easy with you. Welcome to the best forum, ever! So, I read your post a couple of times, and I first wanted to say congrats for being 25 years clean and sober. Amazing! As for the migraine, well... I'm a recovering " pill addict" so, the old me would pop a couple of pills. New me, would go to the doctors and tell him that I need help with my migraine with no narcotics involved . So, why don't you call ur doc? I hope it all works out for you. I'm sure that they'll be more posts so, hang in there and keep checking this forum. Good luck!
