Suboxone - Depression a side effect?

Quick question for those that have used Suboxone....

I have an appt with a Dr tomorrow. Insurance doesn't cover it - so it's going to cost $700 for treatment. I want to try this, because I give up on trying to quit. Well - I want to quit, but I admit defeat, I can't do it without assistance.

One of my biggest complaints about WD's is the dysphoria (depression). I was reading in a drug book that one of the common side effects of Suboxone is "Dysphoria". This is very discouraging. I don't want to spend $700 to find out I'm no better off than on my own.

Things I've read here are positive - but I don't want to make a big dollar mistake.

Any insight? :/

im here to answer your questions, dont thank me...lol...

actually we have had no w/d symptoms...did i confuse you by my other post, about i was in w/ds?...i meant to this site...i love this place!!!...

i definitely think it is worth the money!!!...

we have our 2nd appt tomorrow as a matter of fact...i htink that is when they will give us our schedule...

we were prescribed 2 a day, but i did that the first day only, as they make me really really tired...so i take about 1 a day...im going to talk to them about that tomorrow...but seriously, they are worth it...

i am hoping to be on no more than2 months...but there are some here who have been on longer and shorter...so who knows...

keep posting, let me know what happens, how you feel, etc...

and again ask away...love, natasha

Hello Natasha! :)

Thanks for the reply!

Well - I was told 720ish for the first 3 visits, then 120 for each visit and my ins doesn't cover it. I'm going to call them tomorrow to verify before I go.

I've done a lot of research - besides the book, it seems to be a 'rare' side effect. Though I am concerned about my liver - I have seen info about watching the liver during treatment.

I have done some damage to my liver during my Vicodin addiction. My liver counts have been elevated for a long time, and that was before I started drinking to deal with WD's. :(

Your post has given me hope -- I think even if my ins doesn't cover it, I should give it a shot. The lady I talked to couldn't stop raving about it, but she works there, so I expect that. You are going through WD's so I should be getting a more accurate response from you since you have nothing to gain. :)

Thanks for your reply - and I look forward to any others that have experiene with the med.

Oh - Natasha... has your Dr given you a schedule --- or at least an ETA on when you /should/ be done? I know it's not an exact science, but I'm wondering if I should be thinking weeks or months?? Thanks again! :)
