Also, if you start Suboxone, you can't take any more Ativan.  No benzos at all.  The mixture could be deadly.

Everything is free if you get in contack with Adapt in your town.  In fact they pay you with walmart money cards.  I sure thought bad about that.  I would have paid them $500 or more to help me.  It is a nationwide study going on.
Good luck.  I am back to normal.  Praise the Lord.  No more anxiety and it will be 4 weeks tomorrow since my last suboxone.   If i could only sleep now.
Hang in there Gang, there is help out there..Seek it;  TJack

You don't have to go to any kind of detox place for the Suboxone.  Go to www.suboxone.com, where you will find a physician locator (by zip code).  This is a list of doctors who are licensed to prescribe it.  Then you just call them up and see how much they charge.  I found one who charged $125 for the first visit, and $60 for every visit after.  I don't have insurance right now, but it will be cheaper if you do.  They may already be working with a pharmacist who gives good deals on the med itself.  I got 10 8mg tabs for $50.  I take 4mg per day, so they will last me 20 days.  So without insurance, it is costing me $50 every 20 days... not so bad considering what I was feeling like.  There are also some programs that offer assistance to people without insurance, who fall under a certain salary.  The doctor you choose may have the forms, and if you qualify, these programs will deliver your Suboxone to your doctor for free.  Definitely check out the suboxone.com website.

In what state did you find a Dr that cheap? It costs me $280 for my first visit and $180 every other after that. I am in Ohio by the way!

Keep us updated we can help you get through this.  We are in the same boat.  If I may ask, how old are you? I am not in a 12 step or outpatient treatment.  I think I would like to start going to AA.  I have been told I would be a better fit in AA rather then NA.  I think couseling is a good idea.....we have a disease, it needs to be addressed

yes I see now there is too much but I argued with eveyone who said so.  If suboxene is a pain med I will be forever grateful because while my body is a slave to these drugs I am HURTING terribly right now, PAIN stabbing burning shooting....I cant take it.  It is the only reason I have not quit the meds all together because I HURT SO DAMN MUCH.  you are all wonderful.  I admire you all.  I am wondering if any of you are also in a 12 step program?  Is it necessary for everyone?  Thanks!
Oh do I have to go to inpatient detox to get on a suboxene program.  thanks again I have found a group that WILL help me I am so hopeful now

I think wait2long is right.  I think the combo of meds is toooo much.  You sound so much like me.  The depression, the staying in bed, not being able to get up.  The emotions, oh god the emotions....I hear ya sista....pain pills are the devil to addicts.  I mean dont get me wrong, they help when you really need them, but we have gone past that.  I understand you being in pain, and doctors DO prescribe Suboxone for chronic pain.  It works like an opiod.  The only pain I have had since being off an insanely high vicodin binge is a headache.  BIG DEAL!!!!  If a headache is all I got, so be it.  I didnt have to take any time off of work.

i was and am in the same boat as you...drugs cause depression, addiction causes depression...the first thing i would do if i was you was stop the ritalin, that may be making a mess of your mind, your taking 3 different drugs and all 3 of them are sending your brain in different directions...my husband and i used to buy ritalin when we couldnt get our drug of choice...hubby had a nervous breakdown because of going from one extreme to the other first your way up, then your down in the dumps...i would never take ritalin ever again, i saw what it did with the combination  of percs, oxies, benzos and ritalin, not a good combo...all i did was cry day in and day out...it was awful...but i think if you drop the ritalin you may see a little improvement, but you still will have some depression from the other drugs,

I started a new thread to try to explain better.  My relative went to detox  and then had to wait 17 days to get suboxene and then it was good.  I  did not knowit helps with the pain, that would be great cause I TRUELYY have pain and thats how I got in this mess.  The Ritalin was cause I could not get myself out of bed and I was not motivated and and felt I was going from one thing to another and the depression is doing that and I am depressed cause of being sick, I have lots of stuff wrong for my age and I am always tired or hurting.  SO I want my life back.  They tried to wean me in a short term mental health stay for depression saying the drugs made me depressed.  I belive them now.   I gave up 6 years of xanax from psychaitrrist and also ambien 6 years and my LORTAB.  I was SO freaking sick they gave me nothing but benadryl to calm me down.  I hated it but by the time I went home I was taking a 5/500 and dividing it!   No oxy then.  I  could kill my doc for putting me on this.....he did not like me taking so much Norco........(less tylenol than lorta).  I hurt so bad right now.  I cant take it.  I am off to go to surgeon for my one month check up post op.  thanks for listingin.

No, I did not go to detox.  I made my appoint with my sub doctor on Monday, and got in on Tuesday and started the meds then.  I was on vicodin 100 mg a day though, not oxy.  Are you saying you want to quit?  Suboxone is also used for pain management.  I have alot of back issues which started the whole vicodin thing, and with the suboxone I have had no issues with pain at all.  They are giving you ritalin to stop you from crying?  I'm confused, why are you crying?  I think it really helps to see a couselor.  take care of yourself, and really consider suboxone it has been my miracle.  Really, I feel like a brand new person, screw vicodin....it's an IDIOT!!!!

i agree with you to a point about it being a miracle drug because it does make you almost forget why you are taking it to begin with...are you doing short term or long term?  and are you in any type of therapy? i opted for the long term, because my addiction was long term.  also you are so very lucky to have insurance, i am sure your counting your blessings on that one, HUH?  i pay dearly for my meds, get a break on my therapy and my doctor is an angel in disguise, she hasnt charged me a penny...

did you go to an inpatient for detox or did you just stop the oxy and get on suboxene. I take 30 mg twice a day and I take it as directed but I need lortab for break through and my doc only givesme 2 a day and I need 4 and always run out. I am on Ativan and Ritalin too.  The Ritalin is new it is to see if it would help me stop crying but I dont know if I am depressed from the drugs or just losing my mind. HELP

Yes Mom, I truly DO believe it is a miracle drug.  I have tried many times quitting only to relapse again.  I feel NO w/d's I have no cravings, and all my triggers points are not affecting me.  Go to www.suboxone.com and put in your zip code, you will find the doctors in your area that are able to prescribe it.  You have to be in mild withdrawls to start it too, not a bad price to pay for the outcome.  For me it wasent expensive at all, I paid 20 bucks for my first visit (i do have insurance) and then I will pay 50 bucks a month for the prescription.  I am now 3 days clean with no yucky feelings, im excited for this weekend, will be the first time I can go out with my family and not worry about pills, it sounds sad to say I couldnt enjoy my family cause I was so caught up on if I had enough pills, or I had to go meet my "guy" for more....but I know you all understand me....Thank you all so much.  I truly have a huge place in my heart for all of you.

you have to find a doctor that can prescribe suboxone...not every doctor can do this, and once you have found your doctor you most likely wont have to worry about it again, it is expensive...so be aware of this...also check out ALL of the prescribing doctors in you area and start with the cheapest one, do your research and ask , ask, and ask questions...  some doctors will only do a short term detox..while others will let you decide what is best suited to you and your needs... whether it be short term detox or long term maintenance...google suboxone, also there is a doctor locator at suboxone dot com    but i can not stress the importance or research, learn about the drug before you take it so you will know what to expect...it is not a wonder drug, or a miracle pill...you still need to deal with the reasons you became an addict to begin with...most suboxone doctors wont even prescribe unless you have some type of therapy lined up...but if your willing to take these steps then you will have a better chance at success...suboxone has saved my life...but not by itself...

OMG, I need to get this suboxone. I wanted to cry when I read that you don't have to worry if you will have enough pills and can just be a mom. I want that back so bad right now. Do you have to worry about docs. not giving you Suboxone like you do when it comes to vicodin?
