Suboxone Question- Does it get u high?

i have a question about Suboxone.  Forgive me if I sound dumb or stupid, but just looking for some information.  Does Sub get a person "High" i've been taking it for my opiate addiction (4days now) of course started to taking this to minimize the W/D and cravings from the Hydro's but I never got a "high" from it. I just heard on the local news that some teenage kid died from using "sub" just wondering how in the world does that happen if it's supposed to prevent getting "high" or help addicts?????

Anytime there is an opiate involved there is always that chance even with sub.  That is why it is so important to take these type of meds under a doctors supervision.

Sub is designed for opiate addiction and should always be taken under a doctors supervision.  If someone take suboxone and they are not opiate dependent, then there is a much higher chance of an overdose.  Suboxone is very strong, but is safer against abuse by addicts because of the ceiling effect - which is about at 32mg.  You can't really take more and get a high from it - and it also has a lower chance of causing respiratory depression.

elvis - you asked about how long one must wait after taking methadone to take suboxone.  Most docs want you to wait at least 48 hours after the last methadone dose before taking suboxone, otherwise there is a good chance of going into precipitated withdrawal because suboxone has such a high affinity for the Mu receptor and if there is another opiate on the receptor, suboxone can kick it off.
