Suboxone Withdrawal...how long??!!

Hi All.... I stopped taking my Suboxone on Friday, weaned myself off of it slowly and like a fool thought I wouldn't feel any effects of it....WRONG!  I have not gotten out of bed since Friday, I am a complete mess.  I have no energy, no appetite and just want to die.  How long is this going to last?  I did feel a tiny bit better this morning, a glimmer of hope.  I am so ashamed I ever got myself into this mess.  I had taken Vicodin and Soma for 15 years and then Suboxone since last April.  What a waste of my life.  Sorry to ramble, I'm just so depressed.  Does anybody know of anything I can take to give me some energy?  I've been taking a multivitamin, a B Complex Vitamin and an L-Tyrosine.  Anything else I can take?  On a positive note, 2013 I will be drug free!!  No more drugs, ever again!  Happy New Year everybody, I wish you all luck on your sobriety!  <3 Missy

Hello, Ive been having withdrawals from suboxone for over a week. I still take 1/4th of a film a day and am sick....depressed and have no energy. I could tolerate this if it were not for the depression. I have serious chronic depression and dealt with it for years, but now trying to stop Suboxone is making me feel hopeless. The subs really helped me with the depression. I take Wellbutrin also but Im scared to death that I will feel suicidal with full withdrawal...does any out there understand where Im come from???? I have not left my home in five days and have anxiety just thinking about going back to work....is there anything I can do to help myself with these feelings??????????/

Missy well you seem like you have a great attitude and taht can come a long way. Oh, and one would think that 1mg would be easy to stop. Very wrong as you now realize. But you did jump and it is for a reason. Just keep on going forward and things will get better. And sure, if you go on the Thomas Recipe link there are vitamins and amino acids.... But it is time that will play the most important role in recovery, especially in the beginning. Just keep on going forward your life is within reach. God Bless and Happy New Year!

My doctor hardly had a clue, just prescribe  me anything,
I jumped off from 2mg thinking it be a easy ride, but was more like a roller coaster,
Hardly slept but finally feel a bit better,
Just spent some time in the back playing catch with my dog so killed some time,

I'm just trying to stay positive, strong and see the light at the end of the tunnel...

Thank you SunnysideUP27 and HarveyG for the responses!  So, HarveyG, your doctor gave you Vicodin?  I don't understand that!  Sunnyside, I jumped at 1 mg.  I had a prescription for 2mg and I was breaking them in half.  I know I probably should have broken those down even more but I just wanted to be done with it and get it over with.  Since I had no problems tapering from 8 mg 2 times a day to eventually down to the 2 mg and then 1 mg, I figured 1 mg would be a piece of cake..... NOT!  I will take a look at the Thomas recipe.  I only have to work on Wed and Thur of this week thank God!  At least my husband knows what a mess I've gotten myself into and knows why I'm spending my days in bed.  Just wondering if there are any vitamins I can be taking to help with my energy.  Maybe the Thomas Recipe will tell me that.  I appreciate you both taking the time to write, God Bless you both!

Missy congrats on your decision to quit and start anew this New Year! Well suboxone is tricky as it has a long half life. You say you were taking it since April. What did you jump at? What miligram.... Subs are tricky and they are some of the nastiest withdrawals out there. I know, I stopped them a long time ago..... Many people, including myself, went on them thinking the withdrawal would be easy, well it is not.... But it can be done of course. Rest is key, time is also... if you can get out and run or something that could help. The Thomas recipe works well... Time is key though... Good lucka nd God Bless

Have a look at the Thomas recipe,
I'm on day 6 now and just been a zombie most of the day,
No energy to do anything, and feel really irritated,
I wanted to know the same thing as well, how long WD will last,
My doctor told me 5-7 days and I will have my strength back and just gave me Vicodin, wish I could show him the WD pain,

Toothfairie recommend hot baths to me and that has worked really well for me,
After every bath/shower I feel a lot better,

Hardest part is trying to keep my mind occupied,

Stay Strong and Have a Good New Year...
