if u taper down to 4 mgs then even 2 mgs u will b in misery. u need to get below 1 mg a day to jump with horrid w/d thats where all the horror stories fof sub come from. so i would suggesst u get to a good dr that will do a proper taper. most people drop to .5 or .25 b4 they jump
Thanks to deweseth for responding! It's great to know other people have been through this too.
I don't think I can do the 21 day increment schedule because I only have 9 strips left. But I'm going to taper the best way I can with these last 9. I can cut them in half and then into quarters. So far I've taken 1 strip per day for 5 days, leaving me with 9.
Good luck to everyone else too!
Hi, yea I sort of rambled on and didn't really state a clear cut question. Is anger a sign of withdrawal? Because in the past I would become very angry and get hot flashes around my back and shoulders.
I usually get prescribed 14 strips and I take one per day until they are gone and then after about 8 or 9 days of misery, I start scheming on how I can get more so I can get relief from my anger and pain. I can't seem to get pass that stage.
I've been on and off suboxone (mostly on) for 2 years and it's like I forgot who I was before all of this started.
deweysweth and IBKleen have good points. What's your question and a slow taper is very helpful. Subs are a very powerful opiate. How can we help?
you need to set down and figure out a plan, write it down and stick to it, sub has a half live remember it take 3 to 4 days to fell the effects of your last dose, and go slow, drop every 21 days, if you go to 4mg 21 days later drop to 3mg 21 days later 2mg, all the way down to .25mg and start skipping days, 21 day increment's, you will still fell tired and sleep will be hard to come by for a while, but its worth it, not a doctor just telling you what work for me and most other sub users, if you jump at a higher than .50mg you will feel like crap, sub is a strong drug and addicting, but if used right its a good tool to use to get clean, after the withdrawl, then the restless legs and no sleep and then the mental part and you brain will take the longet to heal, thats why its inportant for a long taper useing suboxone, get some strong b-12 and b-6 and green tea pills and a multi vit, and take with food and most inportant of all EXERCISE!! you can do this if your serious about getting clean, there will be other people come along to help also, looking back it really wasent that bad if you do the long taper and dont fear this, the scare of being sick was harder than being sick, wish you the best and a happy recovery! just surrender and dont be scared! god bless you with strength at god speed recovery!!
