Suboxone and insurance and pregnancy

by clean4mybaby, Nov 12, 2008 08:31AM
Hi everyone. I have a question and I am praying someone can help me. I wanted to know if because I used my insurance to get the script for my sub, can they see that when I have the baby and take the baby because I was on sub in the beginning of my prengancy? I mean, can they see past prescriptions and potentially take the baby? I mean child protective services? WIll the hospital notify them because they will see the past script on my insurance? Does anyone know if that can happen? Any help please....

Well, I did tell my sub dr I was pregnant and he has me tapering down to nothing and stopping this weekend. But I said I told my OB but I didn't. I was afraid to and I figured I am stopping now anyway. So I have another appointmnet in two weeks, what do I do now since I didn't tell them before. Now I am so scared. I know I should have told them. But i was afraid to and now I don't know what to do. I am going to stop the sub this weekend as per my sub drs orders and I don't know what to do.

I don't really know. I don't really think they will look up previous prescriptions on your insurance. But regardless, you should probably tell your OBGYN what your situation was or is. Even if you stopped or are stopping. You seem to have your baby's best interest at heart and that already makes you a good mommy. So just be upfront and get it over with. If you do keep it from them, and for some odd reason they do come across the sub script and see the dates, they will see it was during your pregnancy and that may cause some unwanted trouble. I don't think they can do that, but there is alwasy a possibility. Did you see the dr for the sub with your insurance?

If a doctor was prescribing you suboxone, which obviously is the case because it was ran thru your insurance company, then you are fine.

And, you said "in the beginning" so apparently you are not on it now?

You are totally fine.
