Its suppository true research it what ever saliva u have after it's dissolved I'd spit it out also. Now when I got below 1.50mg to 1mg. I stopped doing it and just went with it scared I wasn't gonna get enough of the buphnorphine. I looked at it like just 1 less thing stuck n my body and brain. More mental than anything.
And yes Suboxone headaches r from dosing to much. I learned that n the very beginning take it as a good sign. Lower that dosage
Wait, how can holding it under the tongue and spitting it out do anything?! Mine absorbs with in a few minutes under the tongue, i only take 2mg at a time no more than 4-6mg per day. I would be interested to know how that method spitting it out prevents the naloxone from entering the digestive track
Hi, I am trying to find more info on whether or not naloxone is really inert when taking it sublingual. Actually this does make sense, it has to be inert because then the bupe would cause withdrawal, the bupe is a partial opioid agonist. The whole point of the naloxone added is to discourage taking it intravenously which would precipitate immediate withdrawal.
After my baby I was in a lot of pain, and had to go on Vicodin, I was worried there would be a reaction or not work, but it worked just fine. I had built up a tolerance rather quickly after a week, But it did help some with my pain. Honestly I think it added to the suboxone for a better effect. I'm being prescribed Tylenol with codeine for a dental procedure, I picked it up and the pharmacist warned me there could be an interaction that could make me sick, But I don't even think he knew what he was talking about it, I don't think he knew that it only makes you sick if it's takin intravenously (suboxone)
Can I ask how you found out that it is inert when taking sublingual? Googling it there are various debates about it and I think most of the community thinks that if you take an opioid or a narcotic ORALLY for short term pain while on suboxone (sublingually) will make you sick. I would like to put that to rest once and for all.
I have to take Excedrin before I take my Suboxone in the morning because if I don't my headache will be unbearable at some point during the day. I always get a headache from them, no matter how much I take. Maybe you don't tolerate them well like me. My headache will start as soon as the Suboxone kicks in and most of the time it can be kept at a tolerable level with Excedrin throughout the day.
Naloxone is an opiate antagonist. If it enters the blood it would throw an addict into immediate withdrawal. It is added to subs to prevent iv use. You could be having an allergic reaction to it, but should not be crossing your blood brain barrier. I have known folks to hold the sub under tongue for 10 minutes and spit it out. That prevents the naloxone from entering the digestive system and the bupe will be absorbed by then. It may be worth a try if you can't find another reason for the headaches after switching from Subutex to Suboxone.
Inert, did not know that. Always blamed headaches on suboxone. Bc when I was on subutex didn't have them. I've got a long sorted history
If taken sublingual, the naloxone is inert, it doesn't enter the blood stream at all. Have you had this problem the whole time, it may be that your body doesn't tolerate buprenorphine.
I've been on 2 mg twice a day, I've been on higher in the past. (16mg / day). Just now thinking my severe headaches r from naloxone.
I too suffered with headaches from subs, they can get real bad! You could be on to high a dose like weaver said, that's usually the root cause!
On yes, the bupe headache is infamous. It is usually caused by taking too much. What and how much were you taking before subs and how much sub are you taking now?
