Suboxone tx n surgery

I'm on suboxone for two months  n doing ok but I have hep c and need gallbladder surgery. What do they give you for pain in these cases? what if I have to be put to sleep? I know sometimes morphine is given for sedation this isn't going to work for me. Anyone had experience with this?

Best thing to do is to make sure your dr and anesthesiologist know about the suboxone and how much you take as it will affect their decisions in caring for you.  I was on a VERY high amount of pain meds and other drugs when I finally got to have my back surgery and that made it difficult to control my post surgery pain.  I actually had to be adminstered oxygen 3 times while still in the hospital.
The whole surgery team needs to know exactly what meds you are/have taken to insure your safety.  Good luck to you~
