I slept like a baby. For the first time in years, by the way.

Are you having any other symptoms???

Absolutely! I had the exact same problem in the beginning, when I was on a higher dose (16 mg./day). I once laid in bed for 72 hours. No withdrawal, but no sleep either. Here's what helped me:

1. Lowering the dosage. The trick with Suboxone is to take just enough to avoid withdrawal, but no more or side effects can occur, such as insomnia. Everyone is different, each has to find his own "just enough" dosage. You can't achieve that in just two days. Just lowering my dose by 2 mg. helped a lot.

2. Be patient. Give your body a chance to become accustomed to this new drug.

3. I took sleep aids. I needed a Benzo at first, but be careful, you don't want to create a new problem. Then I went to the safer sleep aids; Lunesta at first. Then I went to OTC diphenhydramine (Benadryl). That worked better than the Rx Lunesta.

I'm NOT suggesting you lower you Suboxone dosage or start taking sleeping pills. I'm only telling you what helped me. I CAN tell you that insomnia is a common and troublesome side effect, but it can be managed. Talk to your doctor about it.You're still better off than you were when you were using aren't you? It will get better, I promise!

My very best wishes to you,

Marc
