Suboxone

Has anyone used the Suboxone through detox. I need information on it like: Cost, amount of time most are on it, can you file insurance or if you have an HMO like me what do you do? I'm really needing some help with this. I'm so depressed that all I do is cry. My husband is not understanding at all he's delt with me too many years. I'm really trying but it's almost too hard. I'm going to end up on antidepressant or some other form of meds the rest of my life what's the difference.

I have now been on Suboxone for 11 1/2 year. I tried to taper off after the first 3-6 months and ended up relapsing. I have had 7 close friends overdose and die from heroin and about 10 more people that I know pretty well that have also overdosed and died. I have cone to terms that I have a disease called "addiction."  I read a great article that totally made sense to me about a year ago. It was about other diseases that you have to take medication for. Take diabetes for example. If you have diabetes you are not going to stop taking your medicine for it because it will make you much worse and most likely even kill you. This is no different than having a bad addiction to opioids. I have taken suboxone for 11 1/2 years and for the first year and s half I tried to get off of it and relapsed several times. Once I decided to try to stay on some suboxone and not taper off I have not even had a thought of using for just over 10 years now. So you can look at this is a couple ways. You can be a person which is not me and go off of something and never go back, or you can take medication for your diseases and have a fighting chance to stay alive. I just now want to go fisht either the government or the maker of this medication to make it affordable to people so they can have an experience like mine. I have been fortunate enough to stay clean, get good health insurance that would pay a good amount so I could afford my suboxone because if I didn't there would be no way I could afford $800 per month to stay on this medication. If anyone happens to know anyone I could talk to about my personal story and life on suboxone and possibly find the right people to talk  to to make it affordable so we don't have so many deaths and people who want to get on this that cannot afford it. Please feel free to email me at ***@****.

I'm on Suboxone, have been for two years. I highly recommend it, but not for long-term. It's short term for a reason. Just wanna throw this out there so everyone will know, I know because I have been on it forever. Suboxone ruins your teeth! My teeth were perfect before, and now it will cost thousands of dollars to fix them from tooth decay. I brush my teeth, just the Suboxone wears them down and makes the sugar I eat and drink do a lot worse on my teeth. Just wanted everyone to know that there are risks, especially for long-term. To answer our question, I paid around $7-$9 a film from my old drug store. Now I'm on insurance from my job, and I only pay $30 a month for it.

I'm trying to detox and I just called an addiction clinic about suboxone a few days ago. I got about the very same answer as texasrebecca. It was going to be $400 for my first visit and $100 for every visit thereafter. I think most clinics do personal billing, and then you yourself have to bill your insurance (check first to see if your insurance will even do that). It's not a guarentee that you will receive you script the first day. The whole process is very controlled. Every doctor that prescribes suboxone has to abide by all of these laws and one of them is they can only be treating 100 patients at a time, so the other thing you have to check is if the clinic is accepting suboxone patients. If you have all this money and it is worth it to you to do it, then I think it's a good idea. They will monitor how much you take so you will still go through w/d's in the end but they will be so so so much more bareable and hopefully you will quit for good!

I live in Austin Tx, and I could not find ONE doctor who will file insurance for me on it.  They file for everything else, but not the suboxone detox.  They all quote me around $400 for the first visit, and then about $50-100 weekly, or bi-weekly for up to around 6 months!  That seems crazy, but they all told me, that it is cheaper than a habbit, so I had to make a decision which I wanted to spend my money on.

I didn't use it, Ive never even heard of it.
But here is their website. It has a FAQ section, and a link to get a information packet.
