I have been on suboxone since the end of feb I started out 8mg and I am now down to 0.75mg. I went down 2mg ever 3 days until I got to 2mg then I went down to 1mg. I had to stay at 1and 2 mg a few days longer to allow myself to stabilize and the w/d to decrease. Once I got to 1mg I'm going down 0.25mg until I'm only taking 0.25mg then I'm going to start skipping days then stop. I hope this helps. I have been taking vitamins, ibuprofen, 1/4-1/2 of robaxin (muscle relaxer) only when I really need it, trazodone (for sleep), Imodium.
Look up the Thomas recipe if you haven't already. Hang in there.

I had my surgery over a decade ago, and I found that I was replacing my favorite drug ( food ) with whatever the doctors gave me. I even went for a tummy tuck and breast augmentation afterwards so I would be able to continue taking pain killers, since they were the thing that made me feel normal! I used food to stuff down the emotional pain of depression before, and I believe that if u are depressed and expect being thin to solve depression, think again. I naively took my "medicine", knew it made me happy, and thought I wasn't doing anything wrong. I didn't grow up with much knowledge on addiction, but now I'm a poster child for how easily it can happen. I turned into someone I hated and a person I barely recognized since this all happened while I lost my weight. If you are going to have surgery, make sure you are undergoing serious therapy before and after!!! Make sure you take the medication as prescribed, and don't stop your vitamin routine. I did, and I have severe anemia, hair loss, fatigue, depression, anxiety, and no self esteem. I wish I never did it . I'm also battling an addiction to suboxone, which is just as difficult to stop as painkillers. My luck to everyone!!!

Hey Danielle,
Did you manage to stop the other pain pills at least?  How long are yougoing to take the suboxone? I have been taking it for a little over two weeks. I only have one day worth of med left and I am afraid I am going to go thru withdrawals again. What have you heard. I am taking 2 8mg tabs daily. As far as your water retentionI have to take a diuretic to deal with that. I take lasix 40mg a day. This drug kinda scares me. The sooner I get off of it the better I think.
Let me know what you're gpoing to do.
