Suboxone!!
I just recently started Suboxone for my Oxcy and Oxcycodone addiction and its been 6 days now and all day every day headaches and throwing up most of the time after I eat! Could there be a problem w/ this medication and my body?? Dont get to see my doc for 2 more days and some people are telling me that I should swice to Subutex? Allset w/ methadone been down that road!! This stuff seems to work for my cravings but the taste turns my stomach everytime anyone got any solutions???
talk to ur dr...but u r right...taking it once a day will break the mental habit of feeling the need to stick sumpin in ur mouth everytime u feel bad or feel stressed etc...often to first few days u r rxd more..like twice a day..but then the brain is saturated and the half life is long..so then taking it more than once a day is not really necessary....ask ur dr.....for me i think i used supps like that..i would pop a suypp when i felt bad and i started thiking it was my old habits! i had studied the aminos and knew what they were for so used them accordingly..mentally it helped me..even tho it is silly to think popping an amino for any little twitch will help..it was my pill mind at work....so sometimes we gotta do what works for us..i would talk to ur dr bout it.....i took sub for 10 days straight and it stayed on board for 3 days without before i felt like i had n o narcotic on board anymore...long long half life
thats why i feel drs are sometimes givin into the addicts behavior by telling us ake ithree times a day. if ur a clock watcher like i was that defeats the purpose of breakin old habits to taper my dose shouldnt i start by takin my dose once daily?
like mentioned..the dosing a few times a day is in accordance with the mental aspect of addiction...due to the ceiling effect of sub it is really fruitless to take it more than once a day..addicts r used to popping sumpin when they feel bad...popping sumpin just once a day is not gonna mentally cut it for a while..till the habit slims down....i have done studies with a pain mgt dr at the hospital where i work on sub..lots of info and another major point is that doses over 4 mgs do not do a whole lot more than 4 mgs...when a person tapers getting to 4 mgs..even 2 mgs for some is a cinch..alot of the dosing over this amt is due to mental stuff cos physically it is not doing a whole lot anymore for many users after 4 mgs..sub can save lives but like mentioned...u gotta be ready to do the work..sub is a tool and it will not do the work for u
I can only share my experience of what I have gone thru with my daughter, so no personal experience...... but when she started on Sub it was actually 3 x a day, for the first (I think 5 days) and then 2 x a day for a few days and then to one time a day. When your addiction is totally out of control they will have you dose a few times a day to keep you from relapsing it is a lot mental and as you know physical but the goal in a week is to get you to one tablet a day...... two fold to break the cycle of railing oxy on an hourly basis and physically to adjust your body. She went on Subutex for 3 days and then Suboxone...... silly girl before she went into treatment she tried oxy one more time on the Sub and trust me I have seen her throw up from her toes from her oxy use, but the sub with oxy was beyond what most people ever know in terms of being sick. Thank God she went into treatment, for the 3rd time, on 2/5/09 and has been sober since that time. The sub has allowed her the opportunity to embrace sobriety and the help she has been given in patient, IOP, group therapy ,NA,AA but I guess most importantly to want to be the person she once was... and she is doing great!! And going thru a slow taper of Sub under her doc's supervision, whom I have a lot of respect for his practice, not a doc with his hand out for money.
I dont want to debate this again but Sub can help people that really want to get clean and will commit to a lot of after care to remain sober. And please dont tell me she traded one drug for another or I would not have my daughter back in a healthy contributing giving life. For anyone concerned about NA she is still on sub as her sponsor knows, attends meetings daily, and is now the "greeter" in her home group due to her positive and outgoing attitude.
She is 4 months plus w/o oxy and a totally different person, or I guess the daughter I once knew, PLEASE without judgement find that route that takes you to a sober healthy and produtive life........ And only you will know what that route may be.

thats the one thing im so confused about isnt it supposed to be once daily dosing. why are all of our docs telling us to split our doses up?
I was talking about Suboxone. But i think the pill still does have naloxone in it. not sure.
Your reaction to 8 mg a day is nothing like I have seen or experienced.. I started on 16 mg a day taking 8 mg 2x a day. After about a week I thought I was getting dementure and my bones ached so much that I felt like I was 80 years old. I never threw up but had many of the same issues you have. Everyone reacts different. Although I was miserable I was not violently ill. You and your dr need to figure out why you are reacting the way you are, its worse than it should be at 8 mg a day. Are you dissolving it below your tongue or chewing it? YOu also seem to be taking it more often throughout the day than I have seen anyone else do. Talk to your doctor and try to figure this out.
I do know that the reason that the naloxone is in there so needle addicts cant shoot it up but when you sublet it under the tongue that is what will give you headaches! Im on it bro!!
What i meant was for the taste they make a white pill that you can swallow instead of under the tongue. It's something to ask your doctor..
What is it then?? My suboxone cordinatior told me that-that this is what is doing it! If I took Subutex the additives that are in suboxone wouldnt give me headaches! Just got off the phone w/(HER)
Tell me about it! WTF it is so nasty! A few months ago I took it to get off my 4 day 160mgs a day of OC"s and it didnt taste that bad and i was not sick the next day! Now that i have to take it all the time man it has really fu#t w/ me! its Hard!!!
It is not the naloxone.....the naloxone molecule is larger than the sub molecule and is not even absorbed by the tongue when used properly. The naloxone is there to make shooting the things a bad proposition.
My dose is okay! Im a Oxcy addict! I have my 7 day check up in the am to get my next script! My head is in a vise all day! My eating is so messed up sometimes I eat and it fells like i took a Oxcy 80 in 1 wack up the nose! cant focas- fision all blurry and its hard! never had this problem w/ any pill! Talking to my doc in the am to see if Subutex will help! The naloxoneis killing me w/ Headaches!!
They do make a pill form, and they make the orange N8's. You can try the pill one.
I take a 8mg and that is strong but I am perscribed 2 to 3 times a day! i started getting the sick fealing so I took 1 in the am and started to do half @ noon and same @ night and it didnt work! So I keep doing 1 am-noon -night and the sick part came after I ate and it was the one that screwd w/ me (noon)! Morning I can handle it but the other 2 man cant stand it!!
Talk to your dr. Not sure about the stomach thing. It doesnt bother me much. However, headaches are a side effect. I had horrible migraines for the first week or so. I still get headaches, but nothing too bad that tylenol cant cure. Hang it there. Maybe you need to adjust your dose. Call you dr first thing in the am...he should be able to work you in if you tell them you are extremely ill.

yes the taste is horrible same here. cant they make it easier for us to take it. its supposed to help not make us sick. myabe its like that so we dont want to takeit lol
